Somewhere between “how’s work?” and the silence that follows, there’s a version of your relationship with your dad that neither of you has quite found words for.
This Sunday evening, skip the small talk. Bring him instead to a 90-minute sound journey at The Life Centre - gongs, singing bowls, and layered frequency doing what conversation sometimes can’t. No performance, no advice-giving, nothing required. Just 90 minutes of stillness, side by side.
Tickets for you and your dad at https://events.humanitix.com/sound-journey-life-centre
Or comment SOUND and I’ll send it straight to your DMs 🙌
Father’s Day sound journey.

What if you are far more than your thoughts, your body or the roles you play in life?
In the latest episode of The Conscious Action by Brian Berneman I sat down with Crystal Cassidy from SOULPOD | Spiritual Wellness for a fascinating exploration of consciousness, awakening and what it means to be human.
Crystal Cassidy journey bridges science and spirituality in a unique way. From working in biochemistry, cancer research and genomic diagnostics to experiencing a Kundalini awakening, a near-death experience and channeling multidimensional intelligences, her story invites us to expand our understanding of reality.
Together, we explored:
✨ The shift from belief to direct knowing
✨ Kundalini awakening and the experience of oneness
✨ The relationship between science and spirituality
✨ Channeling and multidimensional consciousness
✨ Why mystery is an essential part of life
✨ The importance of community on the awakening journey
✨ How rapid changes in our world may be inviting us into a deeper awareness of who we are
One of the themes that stayed with me throughout our conversation was this:
💫 Awakening isn’t about becoming someone else, it’s about remembering who you truly are.
Beneath the noise, the expectations, the identities and the stories, there is a deeper wisdom within each of us waiting to be rediscovered.
I’d love to know:
Have you ever had an experience that expanded your understanding of reality or consciousness?

I love this.
In my work I get to see strangers come together. People exploring together.
Healing together.
Connecting deeply with themselves and others.
Hugs, smiles or just a listening ear.
Our presence can be so powerful.
And when we come together and connect as one we are able to do and be so much more!

You say something in a session. Someone who wasn’t there responds to it less than a day later.
That’s what happened after one 1:1 family constellation session in Auckland.
“Brian is an incredible therapist. I was lucky enough to meet him in Auckland for a family constellation session, which was incredibly revealing.
What surprised me the most was that, less than 24 hours later, I received a voice note from one of the family members involved, unexpectedly addressing everything I had expressed during the constellation. It was truly mind-blowing.
Brian is deeply respectful, intuitive and incredibly connected. I would recommend him to anyone!”

Ever notice you keep ending up in the same relationship, the same argument, the same stuck place, with different people, different circumstances, same pattern?
You’ve done the work. Talk therapy, journaling, the books, the podcasts. And still, something repeats.
That’s because some patterns aren’t yours to solve with insight alone. They are inherited, carried forward through family lines, showing up in the body long before they show up as a “realisation.”
This is where Family Constellations works differently. It’s not about analysing the pattern. It’s about seeing where it actually lives: in the system, in the body, in what’s been passed down without anyone naming it.
This Thursday 20 August I’m holding a Family Constellations session in Auckland at The Life Centre
If something in this is landing, you probably already know it’s about you.

What if the way we’ve been taught to help someone change is actually pushing them further away?
In this episode of The Conscious Action by Brian Berneman I had the pleasure of speaking with addiction therapist and educator Amber Hollingsworth from Amber Hollingsworth, LPC, MAC about a topic that affects not only individuals but entire families and communities.
One of the most powerful insights from our conversation was the difference between pushing and pulling.
Many of us have been taught that helping someone means convincing them, confronting them, showing them how serious the problem is or waiting for them to “hit rock bottom.”
Yet, as Amber shared, these approaches often create defensiveness and resistance.
Instead, meaningful change often happens when people feel heard, understood and supported enough to reconnect with their own motivation for change.
In this conversation, we explore:
✨ Why “tough love” often doesn’t work
✨ How compassion can create the conditions for transformation
✨ The role of family dynamics in addiction and recovery
✨ Breaking generational patterns and cycles
✨ Why reinforcing someone’s strengths can be more powerful than criticism
✨ How healing one person creates a ripple effect throughout families and communities
✨ Why recovery is far more possible than many people believe
One message that stayed with me is this:
People are more likely to change when they feel understood than when they feel judged.
Whether this conversation resonates because of addiction, family relationships, parenting, leadership or simply being human, I believe there is wisdom here for all of us.
Because at the heart of healing is connection.
