Zen and Koru are two of the flashiest superyachts docked right now, but it’s just the start of the season and New Zealand can expect more to come. If you’ve taken a walk by Auckland’s Silo Wharf lately or driven over the Harbour Bridge, you’d be hard pressed to miss the two massive superyachts docked.

One is the motor yacht Zen, more than 88 metres long, and the other, one of the biggest sailing yachts in the world, the Jeff Bezos-owned Koru. Combined, they’re worth more than NZ$1 billion. Read more here 👇

Our Destination & Cruising NZ book has been spreading the word of New Zealand as a great cruising and refit destination for superyachts and cruising yachts.

Thanks to our friends at Bay of Islands Marina the books have now been delivered to Fiji and Tonga. The book was so well received in Tonga that one copy was signed by all of the vessels at the Vava’u Sailing Festival and auctioned back to the rally for funds in support of local charities!

Great to read the messages from yachties that love New Zealand, wished they were here or can't wait to visit!

From 1-4 April 2027 we will take over three venues on Auckland’s waterfront, filling them with more than 200 boats, 500 brands and many thousands of keen boaties.

It’s the nation’s biggest meeting on the water and we invite you to join us there.

NZ Marine Members are now invited to apply for exhibitor space and berths. General applications will open on 19 October for remaining spaces.

From 9 October 2026, everyone on board a recreational craft 6 metres and under must wear a lifejacket when the craft is underway.

The rule will apply across all of New Zealand to people using small recreational vessels such as jetskis, dinghies, sailboats, kayaks, paddleboards, and motorboats.

From 9 October the law will require all people on recreational craft, 6m or less, to wear a lifejacket.

Our Boating After 5s are always great events! Last night we had the pleasure of gathering at Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders Ltd in Auckland, a valued member of NZ Marine since 1993. Established in 1983, LSB is renowned for building over 80 stunning craft, including yachts, superyacht tenders, America's Cup chase boats, and Elite Design custom motor yachts.

For many years both Lloyd and Tracey Stevenson (our current President) have committed their time and expertise to the governance of NZ Marine and MAST Academy for which we are incredibly grateful.
