Round 5 GR86 Championship Hampton Downs

We showed strong pace all weekend, but unfortunately, a mistake on my part in qualifying put us on the back foot for the races. From there, it was an uphill battle, but we pushed hard, made up ground, and took away some valuable lessons.

ITS RACE WEEK!

Hard weekend of racing at Teretonga. After qualifying P7 we had a gearbox failure in lap 1 of Race 1 resulting in a retirement from the race. Unfortunately due to the race format we had to start from the rear for the next two races.
In Race 2 we moved forward from 23rd to 15th.
Race 3 we moved up the order from 23rd to 17th. Huge thanks to the guys at Right Karts Academy by M2 Competition for the fast car all weekend long you guys are legends. We now turn our full focus on to Round 4 at Highlands this weekend.

We are racing at the tgr_nz nextgennzchampionship Round 3 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing GR86 Championship at Teretonga Park in Invercargill. 2 days testing to learn the track - and Qualifying this morning resulted in P7. First race is at 12.28pm today & can be watched on stuff speedhub. Huge thanks to the team for the setup & work on the car after Hampton Downs.

Character building day here at Hampton Downs.
We put together a nice lap in qualifying finishing up in 8th.

Race 1 we were moving up the order, until a mistake on my behalf while going for a move for 5th resulted in me falling back to P12. Huge thanks to the crew at Right Karts Academy by M2 Competition for there efforts getting the car ready to roll for Race 2 in the morning.

Very fun week at Taupo working for M2 Competition. Huge thanks to Kimi and Léandre for their guidance throughout the week, and well done Enzo you were super competitive all weekend.

Great weekend at Manfield hopping back in the Vernon Vazey Truck Parts Formula First for Round 3 of the Championship. We ended the weekend 3rd, huge thanks to Dad and Chris for giving me a super fast car all weekend long.

What a wild weekend.
We were fast in practice, just had a few issues in qualifying and the races that hindered our performance a lot. Made some good gains in Race 3, just need it all to come together now. Formula First race winner and title contender has confirmed he will complete the full first season of the Bridgestone GR86 Championship.

The 17 year old from Tauranga could be one of the dark horses for Rookie and overall honours after impressing in the official testing last week as part of the new Right Karts Academy by M2 Competition team.

Lines is a long-time NZ Formula First competitor with multiple wins and a Manfeild Winter Series title to his name over the past three years.
