Developing a footballer means looking after the whole athlete. Northern Rovers FC TDP programme players get access to:

🩺 , led by the current All Whites physio and Rovers Life Member Roland Jeffrey, for injury prevention and recovery
🏋️ Our own in-house gym, set up specifically for football
⚡ A Strength and Conditioning programme to build speed, power and resilience 🥗 Nutrition guidance with Olympian Jo Mersh, so players fuel properly for training and games.

The same standards are used at international level, right here at our club.

That's why Northern Rovers FC TDP programme partners with All White and professional footballer Francis de Vries and his business .coaching to deliver mental skills training for every player, including:

🎯 Regular goal-setting sessions
🤝 One-on-one style mentoring from someone who has played at the highest level 💭 Tools to handle pressure, setbacks and big moments

On the pitch, players are coached by our established OFC/NZF B and C License accredited coaches, delivering a programme refined over five years.

The Northern Rovers FC TDP programme has been running for five years, refined season after season to get the best out of every player. And the results speak for themselves:

🥇 Premier Men: 2026 Championship winners
⬆️ Premier Men AND Premier Women: promoted to the NRFL Premiership for 2027
🏆 U23s Men: league champions

That's the pathway our TDP players step into. A holistic environment that develops players from youth level right through to our Senior Premiership squads.

🔵 We're also an Official Youth Development Club of Auckland FC, connecting our players to the professional game.

🌏 And through our partnership with Unite Sport, players have a joint recruitment opportunity to gain playing experience overseas.

Experience matters. Pick a programme that knows how to develop players and understands the major changes coming in 2028. Its not just about 1 year, its the entire process.

TDP gets a lot of the spotlight, but our Championship/Conference teams are just as much a part of this club, and in 2027 we're backing them like never before.

✅ Qualified coaches for every Championship/Conference teams in 2027
✅ Structured training with a clear development plan adjacent to TDP squads
✅ The same club, the same facilities, the same 7 floodlit pitches, next to TDP squads
✅ A pathway to TDP and Premier football for players who put the work in

Not every player develops at the same pace. Championship is where many players grow their game, build their confidence and find their love of football, and we want every one of them to have quality coaching to do it. So many professional players didn’t emerge until well into their teens

Players are encouraged to attend TDP trials however there will be trials run in FEB to confirm Championship/Conference squads. Some players may be offered training opportunities with TDP squads if on the verge of selection following the term 4 TDP trials.
