DOME VALLEY DIG DAY - SUNDAY 1ST NOVEMBER 2026

Auckland Downhill Club Dome Va;lley needs your help ... "many hands make light work" ..... there is only a small length of track to go, and we can start on the XC loop ..... could possibly start it on the Sunday, depending on numbers.

We'd like to beat our last dig day where 65 Trail fairies turned up and smashed it in 3 hours .... hope this can inspire you all to come along and help AKDH ... yes its only just three hours!!

Jeff Carter / South Star Trails come straight in the day after to put the finishing feature jumps n berms in and BOOM .... we're ON.

And if you can donate to their cause that would be really appreciated too as there's always digger machine time to come.

The plan is to get the DH track up and running for end November 2026 all going well ...... along with some trails for the Schools XC / Enduro in 2027.

Membership for the Auckland Downhill Mountain Bike Club (AKDH) costs $50 per person annually and provides access to Dome Valley trails, shuttle days, and eligibility to enter national races using AKDH as your affiliated club.

With Race 5 of the Auckland Schools MTB Season hosted by Auckland Downhill Club Dome Valley at Sanders Reserve yesterday the Auckland Schools MTB 2026 season comes to a close.

With the clubs being officially sanctioned this year by College Sports Auckland, Mountain Biking was officially back into the secondary school’s sports platform including the intermediate schools. This saw a significant growth of over 35% in most events with some events doubling in participation from around 140 riders to 300 riders.

With the increase in numbers & entries the club events prospered and were able to return all profits back into the much-needed club funds for trail building, academies, and equipment for their wider club members to enjoy for years to come.

Notably this season, tonnes of thanks and gratitude should go back to the individuals within club race volunteer committees who stepped up to run the school’s events. In many cases this was at venues and forests for the first time which provided significant challenges and experiences for them as organisers.

In 2026 with 8 events held, 3 Enduro’s, 5 Cross Countries, and 1 Downhill (sadly, cancelled due logging their forest) we will be back in February 2027 do it all again, much wiser from this year’s new experiences and club collaborations.

Registration Deadline: midnight Tuesday 8 September 2026

Contests Categories:

Intermediate (year 7 and 8 of any gender)
U16 Boys
U16 Girls
U16 Co-Ed / Mixed Gender
U20 Boys
U20 Girls
U20 Co-Ed / Mixed Gender

If a Co-Ed school team is made of all boys then they will be in the Boys school race

If a Co-Ed school team is made up of all girls then they will be in the Girls school race

E-bikes are not permitted at this event.

Note: The age group entered will be based on the age of the oldest rider in the team i.e. if you have one U20 rider, then the team must be entered as U20

Eligibility Requirements

Parents & Teachers

All parents and teachers (team managers) attending the XC race are eligible to create a team and compete against the kids. Entry is FREE.

During registration, select "Parent Team" from the school dropdown list and proceed to checkout after entering team manager and rider details.

Auckland Intermediate Schools

All students in Years 7 to 8 attending Full Primary or Intermediate School can enter a team direct on the Raceresults portal and payment made on entry.

All riders should be U14 and teams can be a mix of boys and girls.

Auckland Secondary Schools

This event is open to all secondary school students whose school is a member of College Sport Auckland.

Submit a CSA entry through this website and the submission will be forwarded to your school’s Sports Coordinator. Schools still need to enter teams through sporty and College Sport. No payment is required to complete this entry.

Once your entry is confirmed, your entry status will change from PENDING to CONFIRMED on the Participants list.
