What a way to wrap up the 2025/2026 season for Coast Smashers!
The final game of the one-day competition, deciding 3rd and 4th place, was held at Metro Park, where Coast Smashers took on WCC. Winning the toss, Smashers elected to bowl firstโand it proved to be the perfect call.
Kasun and Ajit struck early, reducing WCC to 16/2 and putting immediate pressure on the opposition. As WCC tried to rebuild, Indika delivered a sensational spell, claiming 5 wickets in his 9 overs while conceding just 21 runs. Shashika provided excellent support from the other end, picking up 2 wickets in his 7 overs. WCC were eventually bowled out for 119 in 30 overs.
In response, Smashers got off to a flying start thanks to Dannyโs aggressive stroke play. Despite losing a few wickets along the way, Chathu held his nerve, anchoring the innings and guiding the team home in 32 overs.
As this marks our final game of the season, we would like to thank Hibiscus Coast Cricket Club, our sponsors, fans, and families for their continued support. Itโs been a fantastic season for Coast Smashers, finishing 4th overall.
Looking forward to coming back stronger next season!
