Having contributed to two of these new playgrounds alongside the wider project teams, it's awesome to see these spaces already being enjoyed by local whānau and tamariki.

We’re also proud to see Destination Kāwaroa recognised with a Merit Award in the Recreation Aotearoa - Te Whai Oranga Park Awards, Playspace of the Year 2026.

Delivered alongside the Taranaki Foundation, Ngāti Te Whiti, New Plymouth District Council and the wider project team, Kāwaroa Park is a landmark coastal playground that brings together play, storytelling and community connection.

A highlight of the project is the custom Matariki-themed tower, designed in collaboration with Ngāti Te Whiti and manufactured by our team. Alongside inclusive play experiences and the Warrior Zone, the space creates opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to explore, challenge themselves and connect through play.
