🚨 Thursday Recap 🚨

All eyes were on the semi-final at the NZSS Boys Premier Nationals, where were taking on Scots College. A relatively even first half finished at 0-0, however, the class of Scots College in the second half proved too much, with the boys eventually going down 4-0. A tough result, but they move on to the bronze medal match today, taking home our highest ever placing at the tournament.

The were out to avenge their tight quarter-final loss the day before, and put on a dominant display to win 3-0 over New Plymouth Girls. The team are now playing for 5th place, and have the chance to better last year's best placing of 6th, in what has been another outstanding tournament for them.

put in a solid pair of performances with a win over Otorohanga and a draw against Huanui. All is on the line on Friday for the final placings, in what are likely to be close encounters.

only had the one match, going down in a tight encounter to Onr Tree Hill, with a goal disallowed in the closing stages.

showed some good fight in their matches on Thursday, going down by the narrowest of margins to Mahurangi, and putting in a competitve performance against one of the powerhouse schools, Rangitoto.

🚨 Wednesday Results 🚨

All eyes were on the two National quarter-finals on Wednesday, with both the boys and girls Football teams looking to create history.

finished 2-2 with Wellington College in a see-sawing fixture which ended up needing to go to penalties to find a victor. Two key saves from Rohan Rakim helped see the boys through to the semi-finals for the first time in history.

The faced regular contenders Baradene in their quarter-final. Despite a huge effort they couldn't find an equalizer and went down by the smallest of margins 1-0. The girls will now play for 5th-8th, aiming to beat last year's result now 6th.

are battling away down in Hamilton in the classification rounds, finishing with a convincing win over Te Aroha and a close loss to Western Heights.

only had the one fixture against a strong Te Koutu outfit, going down 4-2 in a physical but enthralling encounter.

closed out their first national campaign with a convincing 5-1 win over Newlands College. We are very proud of their efforts, and the feedback received about their sportsmanship from other schools highlights what a great bunch of students they are. A big thanks to Amelia Su for coaching the team this season, and putting forward the proposal of sending them to nationals.

kicked off their AA Premierships campaign with a couple of loses against strong Premier opponents, including the Auckland Champs. No doubt they will regroup and look ahead to Thursday with optimism.

🚨 Tuesday Wrap 🚨

Big results and bounce-back performances were the theme of the day on Tuesday.

After a disappointing Monday, bounced-back in a big way with a crucial 4-0 win in the morning, securing a top 16 place on goal difference over Marlborough Boys. They followed this up with a tense 1-0 win over Shirley Boys to earn a place in the quarter-finals for the second time in their history.

Not to be outdone, the also qualified for round of 16 as top finishers in their pool, despite a minor slip up against Glendowie in the morning. They put that result to bed with a comfortable 4-0 win over Hillcrest in the afternoon, earning their place in the quarter-finals for the second year in a row. Clearly both teams are trying to one-up the other this week!

lost both games today as they closed out their pool play, moving in to their first crossover matches. No doubt hoping for a couple of wins on Wednesday against teams of similar ability.

started the day with an emphatic win against Lynfield, before a equally tough loss in the afternoon against a slick Takapuna Grammar.

had two solid performances today at the NZSS Cup, comfortably beating Hastings Boys, before sharing the spoils with Aotea.

get underway on Wednesday in the AA Premierships on the North Shore.

🚨 Monday Results 🚨

The are off to a hot start with two convincing wins, all but assuring them a place in the top 16. Without doubt, the performances of the day!

The didn't get the results they hoped for, but a big win on Tuesday morning could change their fortunes for the rest of the week. We know they are more than capable of it!

had a good win in their first game, managing to get everyone on the court in the process. They followed this up with a valiant effort against one of the tournament favourites in Tamaki College.

competed in their first ever tournament after a strong season, finishing a very respectable 8th place. Looking forward to running it back in 2027 with all the learnings of playing against quality opposition! Well done to the squad, and a big thank you to coach and manager Warren Young.

The 1st XI Girls Hockey only had the one game on Monday, going down against a slick Rosehill team. They will be looking forward to having a couple of games on Tuesday and getting some points on the board.

are also competing in their first ever tournament at the NZSS Badminton Cup, and will be looking to build on every result against some quality opposition. Sunday's results were tough, but they came away with a solid draw on Monday against St Andrew's.

🏐 Junior Volleyball Trials 🏐

Junior Volleyball Trials are coming up next week for Y9/10 boys and girls. We will have two teams for each gender.

Trial 1 - Thursday 10 September - after school
Trial 2 - Tuesday 15 September - after school
Call Back Trial* - Thursday 17 September - after school

*selected students will be invited to this trial.

Boys Football Season Wrap-Up ⚽️🥅

What a season for boys football! We are so proud of all our teams for the energy, effort and commitment they have put in throughout the season!

A huge thank you to all of our football coaches and managers for your help this season! We couldn’t have done it without you and truly appreciate all the time and energy you put into your teams. ❤️

🌟 13A — Our 13A team were runners-up in their grade, having been defeated only once by the grade winners! Congrats team!

🌟 6XI — Our 6XI team were UNDEFEATED all season, winning their grade convincingly! Congratulations to all the boys and coaches! 🙌🙌

🌟 1XI Boys Football — Our 1XI Boys Football team had a fantastic season, finishing with a stellar run of games. The boys scored an incredible 21 goals across just three games! An amazing way to finish the season as they look to carry that momentum into the NZSS Premier Boys Football Tournament next week.

🚨 Tournament Week Schedule! 🚨

Starting tomorrow, our teams are heading away to winter tournament week!

Things kick off with our Girls Basketball team playing in the Northern Cup for the first time, from Saturday to Monday in Pukekohe. Joining them in their first tournament week appearances are Badminton in Porirua, and Equestrian in Taupo!

We can't forget about our amazing Football teams competing at Premier Nationals in Taupo and Palmerston North. Netball are at the UNISS Tournament in Hamilton, Girls Hockey in Pakuranga, and the Boys Basketball on the North Shore.

Levi Fenyvesi is also competing at the NZSS Climbing Cup in New Plymouth after a successful season in the AKSS series.

What an exciting first season for Underwater Hockey at Selwyn College! 💙 We’re so proud of our junior girls, who finished 4th in the College Sport league in what is a brand-new sport for our school. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for this team as we continue to grow! 🌊

🏐Netball season recap🏐

That's a wrap for the 2026 Netball season. This year we had 14 teams competing in the Auckland Netball Secondary Schools Competition on Saturday mornings, as well as a senior boys team in the inaugural Monday Boys Competition. Thankfully the weather was friendly to us this season, with very few days of rain!

Our Premier, 10 Mystics and 9 Lightning teams also got the opportunity to play in the annual Combined Points tournament, competing against the best schools in our region.

A big thank you to our coaches, managers and umpires who ensured our teams were ready to go every week, and that our games were officiated fairly and safely. We also had nearly 20 students coaching our local Primary and Intermediate feeder schools this year, you are all amazing!
