Some people play the game. Others 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 the game. 🏐

Michele Wallace has been part of netball every single year since 1969 - as a player, a coach, a mentor, and a builder of people.

She started coaching at 17. Now she's coaching the kids of players she once coached herself. That's not a career, that's a legacy.

Whether you're a first time coach or a seasoned one, her advice is simple: trust your instincts, be authentic, and never be afraid to ask for help.

Last month, 52 players and 11 coaches came together for their strongest pre-season turnout since Covid.

More than a whistle: Our umpires put their fitness to the test ✅

Our umpires recently put themselves through the Yo-Yo Test at Netball North Harbour — because officiating at the highest level takes real athletic commitment.

The Northern Marvels are ready to light up the 2026 season with passion, pride, and relentless grit this Saturday in their first match of the 2026 Synergy Hair Netball League against Comets.

With the return of several 2025 Marvels alongside exciting new athletes entering our environment, this group brings a fresh mix of experience, energy, and hunger to grow.

These athletes are stepping into a new performance environment with courage, intent, and a drive to challenge themselves every day. Built on connection, trust, hard work, and heart, the Marvels are ready to embrace the journey ahead, create pressure on court, and inspire the next generation along the way.

Katrina Alkema didn't set out to become an umpire coordinator. She just kept saying yes and in doing so, quietly transformed the umpiring culture at Whangarei Netball Centre.

How to behave on the sideline at winter whistle sports Do not blitz the pitch and whatever you do don't come out with calls like "smash them!" or "tackle his head off!".

Netball Waitākere are kitting out their junior officials in 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙚 branded vests this season, a simple but powerful reminder that the people on the court deserve our very best from the sidelines.
