Pita Rona’s Northcote journey started at just 4 years old, playing U8 alongside someone who would become one of his best mates, Morgan Timoti-Cook. ❤️🤍

From those early days, Pita progressed through every age group at Northcote, developing into one of our home-grown Premier players. At only 15 years old, he stepped into the Northcote Premier Men’s team, where he has gone on to become a long-standing and valued member.

His softball journey has also taken him to the highest levels of the game. 🥎 Pita represented the New Zealand Junior Black Sox at the 2012 U19 Softball World Cup, was named in the first New Zealand U23 Major Sox Men’s team and has been involved in the New Zealand Black Sox programme since he was just 16 years old.

Pita was selected for the New Zealand Black Sox World Cup teams in both 2022 and 2025, bringing home a World Cup silver medal in 2025. 🥈🇳🇿

From 4-year-old U8 ➡️ Northcote age-group player ➡️ Premier Men at 15 ➡️ Junior Black Sox ➡️ Major Sox ➡️ Black Sox World Cup representative and silver medalist — an incredible journey for one of our own.

🥎 THEN & NOW — SCOTT COMMON 🥎

For an incredible 30 years, Scott Common has been part of the Northcote Softball whānau — as a player, coach, committee member, manager and dedicated club man. ❤️🤍

Scott proudly wore the Northcote colours as a member of our Premier Men’s team, but his contribution to Northcote goes well beyond his own time on the diamond.

Over the years, Scott has coached right through our age groups from U7 to U19, helping develop generations of Northcote players and giving countless hours back to the game. 🥎👏

He has also served an impressive 10 years on the Northcote committee, helping support and shape the club behind the scenes.

Last season saw Scott finish up his playing days with our Navigators team, but there was no keeping him away from the ballpark!

Today, Scott continues to give back as manager of the Northcote Kings. 👑🥎

🥎 THEN & NOW — ARCHER SNOOKES 🥎

Eight years ago, Archer Snookes took his first swings as a U5 T-Baller at Northcote. ❤️🤍

Since then, Archer has worked his way through the Northcote junior age groups, developing his skills, growing his love for the game and becoming a familiar face around the ballpark.

Along the way, Archer earned the opportunity to represent North Harbour Softball at U13 Development level, before also representing the Rookie Sox in Palmerston North. ❤️💙🥎

Last season, Archer stepped up for a huge double-duty season, playing across both the U13 and U15 grades — showing plenty of commitment and passion for his softball.

And he’s not slowing down! This summer, Archer is back on the diamond representing Northcote in both the U13 and U16 squads. 💪

🥎 THEN & NOW — BROCK ATTEWELL 🥎

Brock Attewell started his softball journey with Northcote at the age of 11, playing his way through our junior age groups and spending plenty of time around the Northcote ballpark. ❤️🤍

Even as a youngster, Brock was never far from the action. On many occasions, he could be found in the dugout as batboy for our Premier Men, watching, learning and soaking up everything the game had to offer.

As Brock progressed through the grades, he went on to represent North Harbour Softball in age-group representative teams, before taking his game to the national and international stage. ❤️💙

🇳🇿 In 2018, Brock represented New Zealand with the Junior Black Sox at the U19 World Cup, before going on to be part of the New Zealand U23 Major Sox World Cup campaign.

His hard work and commitment continued to be recognised when Brock was named a non-travelling reserve for the New Zealand Black Sox for the 2025 World Cup in Canada — an incredible achievement and another proud moment for Brock, his whānau and Northcote Softball.

From picking up a glove at just 3 years old, Indy Naera has grown up around the Northcote ballpark. ❤️🤍

Indy started her softball journey with Northcote, playing her way through the junior age groups and creating plenty of great memories along the way.

After taking a little break from the game for a couple of years, Indy found her way back to the diamond and has now been playing again for the past couple of seasons. Best of all, she’s back doing what softball is all about — hanging out at the ballpark, playing the game she loves and enjoying time with her softball friends. 🥎

Last season, Indy reached another exciting milestone when she was selected for the North Harbour Softball U15 Girls representative team. ❤️💙

From a 3-year-old Northcote junior to a North Harbour representative — we love seeing our players grow up through the club and continue their softball journey.

🥎 THEN & NOW — MORGY TIMOTI-COOK 🥎

From a 4-year-old picking up a glove to becoming an integral part of the Northcote Premier Men’s team — Morgy Timoti-Cook is a fantastic example of the Northcote pathway. ❤️🤍

Morgy came through the Northcote junior ranks, starting in U8 and progressing through the age groups, developing his game and proudly wearing the Northcote colours along the way.

His journey also took him onto the international stage, representing New Zealand at the 2012 U19 Men’s Softball World Cup in Argentina — an awesome achievement and a proud moment for Morgy, his whānau and Northcote Softball.

Today, Morgy remains an important part of our Premier Men’s team, continuing to give back to the club where his softball journey began.
