A pretty full on week for the GTY team. Full strip down of the GC32 Frank Racing with Stuart MacKinven Jason Hendy Andrew Duff & Sam Roe and assist start service of all the gear. Wired Racing got a new ram probe and carbon stick out the front, we completed full service winch works on G2 (ex Cinderella 4)currently undergoing an extensive refit at Orams Marine. The new yard is just fantastic and massive thanks to Matt and the team whom make our lives stress free and always go above and beyond the call of duty.

One of the smaller yachts we’ve looked after at just 28ft long but some very happy owners to have there little lady home in San Francisco.
GT Yachting took care of the guardianship through the last years lock down and prepared Summer for Shipping in early Jan. here’s a nice message from the owners:

Hi Andrew
Thank you and your team for taking such good care of our little lady! You made the experience of leaving our yacht in an inaccessible country painless, and we are so very appreciative of your professionalism and attention to details. She was clean, rust free and overall in good nick. We spent 2 days in Mexico putting her back together, which was a painless experience because you took her apart and kept everything straight and organized, so thanks for that! We sailed her back up to San Francisco directly after commissioning, and had a great trip, even if all upwind for days. The yacht looked amazing and had absolutely no issues on the delivery up.
Hopefully we never find ourselves in this position again, but if we do, or know anyone else that does, we will definitely use/recommend your services!

Haven’t done many updates for a while but great to see so many people liking us here on FB.
It’s been a busy one for the team at GT Yachting. We’ve been working on some pretty cool projects and continue to look after many of our regular customers which we are very lucky keep coming back to us.
One of the latest was the relaunch today of the Hinckley Yachts 40PB “Waikopou” that we look after and carry out guardianship for. She’s only 2 years old but was requiring a re-varnish and touch ups on the exterior and after cockpit areas and Hamilton Jet service to keep her looking/working in tip top condition. Whilst L4 lockdown through a few spanners in the works and a 36day wait in the shed the varnish/paint work carried out by Orams Marine is looking really sharp and we just about have her all back together.
Fosters Chandlery & Harken NZ are keeping us incredibly busy with regular Harken winch servicing using us as one of there preffered service providers in Auckland and that has led to working on some pretty cool yachts like the Kinetec 62 “kinetic”, recently launched Botin 52 “Caro”, the Marvin Morelli 65 “Dulcinea” (ex Wildcat) and of course our regular race yacht and cruising fleet.

We unloaded this fine vessel for one of our fantastic clients in Auckland today. Welcome to Auckland “Belle Aire”, big thanks to Bradley Mclaughlin and Jason Hendy for all there solid efforts today. The new owners are very excited to meet their new mother ship tomorrow.

Just delivered! a brand new Offshore Cruising Tenders to one of our Auckland based clients. Many thanks Russell & Karin Carlyon the owners are very happy.

A speedy trip down to Nelson on the mighty High Voltage Astrolabe Sailing & VM2 Racing, unfortunately couldn’t quite make Waikawa due to a fairly nasty southerly buster in cook straight (42kts across the deck with 50nm to go) but at least she’s back on the right Island now in one piece and Vicky and her team will be able to do some much loved sailing back in and around the sounds. Smallest boat we’ve delivered for a while but a great ride all the same. Much nicer travelling at 250+kts to get home and a little drier!

As we are about to move out of Alert Level 4 to Level 3 we are starting preparations to re-open from Tuesday 28th April.

Guidelines will be adhered to which will ensure that contractors, suppliers, vessels and there owners remain safe.

Whilst we have been keeping an eye on the vessels we look after during this lock down we know that some people will be requiring urgent service work especially in regards to Harken Winches and deck gear.
