We, the family of Grant and Mary Arkell, would like to thank you all for the support, love, and kindness and respect shown to us during this time. Our much-loved Dad is still with us, and we are cherishing every moment ❤️

As we gather memories to honour his life, legacy and the impact he has had, we would love if you could share any photos, stories, or reflections about how he touched your life. Your memories will mean so much to our family and will be treasured for years to come.

Shout out to the fighters on the card for the Auckland Boxing Tournament a couple of weeks ago 🥊 Results below:

• Micah Ellis WON by unanimous decision against Levi Ansell from Peach Boxing

• Silas Ellis WON in his first amateur boxing match against Edmund Helg from Ibox2

• Fred Perese LOST against Taufa Lavemaau from Alby

• Levi Oti WON in his first amateur boxing match against Tyrel Max from Hit Fitness

• Mei Pau in exhibition against a Cleine Lee-Lo from Pacific Boxing

It was an exiting tournament & as always, the supporters were there cheering everyone on! We even managed to get an amazing pic of our amazing new era of athletes in the ring with Coach Grant Arkell post tournament 💪

Update from the team around pricing which has been the number one question!

Pricing is $60 per MONTH per person. Unfortunately we don’t accept weekly payments and only take cash. Thanks to the support of Youthtown we can continue to keep prices low to support our community and keep true to our ethos as a club. This covers day to day consumables as both Grant & Mary take no $$ from the club. 🫶🏽

The requirement is to be able to make 4 trainings a week and if there is constant non-attendance, this can jeopardise your membership continuing in the following months. We want to ensure we’re keeping spots open for those keen to compete as we have restricted numbers.

When signing up with Mary Arkell, you will fill in a registration form and get the run down of how things work.

It’s a great pleasure to officially announce that with the support of Youthtown - we have been able to continue to keep doors open this year. This has been a late announcement as we wanted to ensure we had the systems in place to continue to service the community and uphold our new obligations with Youthtown NZ.

Grant is still on the lookout for keen amateur boxers (age 14+) who are able to train Monday to Thursday 6pm-7:30pm. If this sounds like you please head on into the gym and sign up!

Once again, thank you to everyone for your support as we transitioned into this new chapter. It’s still the same place we all know and love just a little different!
