Sunset Coast BMX Club is proud to be hosting the 2027 BMX New Zealand National Championships.

We're now looking for businesses, organisations, and community-minded supporters who would like to be part of the journey.

Our sponsorship opportunities extend beyond the Nationals themselves, with many packages providing exposure through club activities, our next 2026 race meet, our Pre-Nationals event, and the 2027 BMX New Zealand National Championships.

Please check in at the clubhouse when you arrive.

Usual safety gear applies: long sleeves, long pants, full-face helmet, gloves, and covered shoes.

A huge thank you to The Lion Foundation for once again supporting Sunset Coast BMX Club, this time with funding towards our club operations through until the end of January 2027. 🖤❤️

The Lion Foundation continues to make a huge difference within communities across New Zealand by supporting organisations that create positive opportunities for people to connect, participate, and thrive — and we are incredibly grateful to be one of those organisations.

This support helps us continue providing a safe, welcoming, and active space for tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau to come together through BMX. From first-time riders through to experienced racers, our club is built on community, belonging, volunteer support, and giving kids a place to grow in confidence both on and off the track.

Community sport simply would not exist without organisations like The Lion Foundation investing back into grassroots clubs like ours.

While some club members were away repping the Sunset Coast BMX at the Rotorua winter met on Sunday, others were down at the club working bee laying the matting between the straights in preparation for next month's matariki planting day on 28th June.

🖤❤️ What’s On This Weekend at Sunset Coast BMX Club ❤️🖤

A slightly different kind of weekend at Sunset Coast — a bit of riding, a bit of racing, and a bit of mahi around the club.

🚲 Friday 22nd May – Play Bike Session
Tomorrow night we’ll be opening the track from 4:30pm – 5:30pm for a simple Play Bike session.

No gates, no hireage, no pressure — just a chance to come ride the track, roll around with your mates, and literally just play bike.

Whether you feel like cruising, practising corners, catching up with mates, or just burning off some Friday energy, come along and enjoy some extra track time. Usual riding gear required.

🔥 Sunday – Rotorua & Working Bee
On Sunday some of Team Sunset Coast are heading to Rotorua for the first round of the Central Region Winter Series. If anyone is keen to head along and join in, sing out — it should be a great day of racing. Online entries close tomorrow night or you can enter on the day.

Back at the club we’ll also be running a working bee from 10am–1pm. The crew will be busy securing the rest of the coco coir around the track, so if you can lend a hand we’d love to see you there.

Bring a hammer, some gloves, and a few hours if you can. Every little bit helps as we keep chipping away at the jobs around the club.

Our winter session is open to everyone and is the perfect chance for Sunset Coast members to get some extra practice in before Club Champs the next day! Whether you’re wanting a few gate laps, some track time, or keen to come and give BMX a go, we’d love to see you there. Usual safety gear applies. Bike and gear hire available
