Meet Yamato Arai !!

Yamato hails from Japan! He spent some time under Nik Hayes in Queensland, took on the opportunity to come with us to New Zealand and expand his experience in which he utilised and took advantage of daily! Yama become a big part of our pitching roster, tallying a big few performances vs Pcu and HV Marist having kept both of them to 0 runs in 7 innings.

Keep an eye out for Yama as he makes his way back home to Japan.

How was your experience with the Blue Sox team?

My experience with the Blue Sox allowed me to learn how to control hitters, as their swings are different from those of Japanese players. Also, we held team meetings, and we were able to identify areas that needed improvement the next day, which allowed me to grow even during the season.

Noah played a big part of our infield this tournament, leading and learning from our coaches he uplifted his knowledge and game throughout the week which had not only us coaches , But other coaches impressed with his ability to perform.

1. How did you like your experience with the Blue Sox team?

It was a great experience. Good group of boys and everyone got around each other which made it really enjoyable.

2. What did you learn from this tournament and how will it benefit you going forward?

I learned a lot about staying composed,consistent and always being present is everything that I do. It’s shown me the level I need to be at and what I’ve got to work on going forward.

3. What was your highlight of the tournament?

Honestly just being overseas playing ball against the best of the best with my mates, I thought that was pretty cool.

Today Our Victorian over 35s men’s had a train and trial vs Our winter Training Squad.

Awesome session and good way to start our winter Campaign off boys!
Our training Squad played a short game and executed that style to a tee! Piling on runs and applying pressure through bunting and hard base running. A good wake up for our 35s men’s players!
Well done boys, was beautiful to watch.
