All animals remain on the pastures year round and are 100% grass fed and finished with no use of growth promoters or other non organic methods. During winter months when grass growth is slower, the feedstock is supplemented with pasture hay cut and baled on the property during the previous summer and dry stored on the farm. The property is set up to facilitate a 40 day pasture cycle through small paddock units. A low intervention philosophy is adopted with both pasture management and animal health. Other than very basic internal parasite control we do not use medications, growth promoters, Sprays are not used on the pasture and with frequent use of chain harrows to spread the animal manure we have no need for artificial fertilisers.
