Warm Hearts, Full Bellies: A Community Mid-Winter Christmas Pot-Luck Dinnerπ½οΈ
Join us at the Claris Club Mid-Winter Christmas Pot-Luck Dinner!
We are delighted to invite you and your loved ones to gather and have a little mid-year break from the winter cold.
This is a true community gathering, so grab a neighbor and please bring a dish to share (Mains, Sides/Salads, Desserts, or Nibbles). To add some extra fun, there will be a Christmas Jumper Competition! We know you have an absolute shocker/stunner of a Christmas jumper hidden away so now is the time to dust it off. Winner gets serious boasting rights.
The Claris Club bar is fully open for the event (no BYO), and we can't wait to see you there!

β¨ BIG thanks to the Aotea / Great Barrier Local Board! β¨
The Claris Club Conference Centre has had a good spruce up and it's all thanks to their funding support.
Fresh paint, sanded & coated floors, acoustic panels, solar battery upgrades, security lighting and new cleaning equipment. She's looking (and sounding!) better than ever.
We love this space for the community wellness classes, workshops, markets, meetings, get-togethers and more :)
π Have you seen it yet? Have you used the space since the upgrades? We'd love to hear what you think. Tell us in the comments below! β¬οΈ
A huge thank you to the Aotea / Great Barrier Local Board for making this possible. π

π Bush Pigs vs Tomarata Centennial Match π
What a weekend for the Barrier Bush Pigs!
The scoreboard may not have gone our way (46-0), but the effort, heart, and mana the team showed was unreal. The boys gave it absolutely everything right to the final whistle and represented the island proudly.
Massive thanks to everyone who helped make the trip happen:
π€ those who travelled over
π the players who pulled on the jersey
π£ the supporters on the sidelines
β Captain W***y for getting them there and back home safely
π₯ those filming and helping behind the scenes
π and of course Tomarata Rugby Football Club Inc for hosting such an awesome centennial event
A huge thank you as well to those who helped get the team there:
π¨ Barrier ITM
π GB Transport
π£ Hooked on Barrier
Your support made the trip possible and we really appreciate it.
For a team with very little training together, the Bush Pigs came out swinging and got so close to crossing for a few tries. Solid hits, big effort, and plenty of grit all afternoon πͺ
Special mention to the off-island players who joined us and helped make up the team - legends.
The comments and support coming through have been awesome to read. Proud and Heart seem to be the words of the weekend β€οΈ
Safe to sayβ¦ thereβs definitely talk of a rematch on the island π
Up the Bush Pigs!
