Well today, 21st April, Tuesday morning tennis is challenged by the weather.... we will delay play till 10.30am and make a call by 9.45am as to whether we will hold tennis session this morning.... watch this space at 9.45am.....

As we rally into Term 2, theres still lots happening at Glen Eden Tennis Club.

On Wednesday 22nd April, we look forward to welcoming back our Juniors for the last coaching lesson for this 2025/2026 season. This is the very last of our “catch-up sessions”.
Junior coaching will resume for Term 4, on Wednesday 14th October, marking the beginning of the 2026/2027 season.

The following week, on Wednesday 29th April, from 6pm to 8pm, we are starting our new "Rusty Rackets".
These sessions are are the perfect way to keep up tennis skills, and take advantage of some friendly competition.
Rusty Rackets will follow a fun rotation format. Courts will each featuring a 30-minute scored match. Players will then rotate, changing courts and partners (subject to playing numbers on the night).

Registrations will be taken on the night, with the first games commencing at 6pm.
In the case of bad weather, updates and cancellations will be posted on our page.

Non-members are very welcome at $5 per person, Members are Free.

Rusty Rackets will run through to until October when our Junior coaching programme will resume.

Well here comes the rain again! Not much fun playing tennis in the rain so Tuesday morning tennis cancelled today, 7th April 2026... see you all next Tuesday!

That’s game, set, match on Term 1 at Glen Eden Tennis Club

It’s been such a fantastic term of Junior coaching to kick off the year. It’s been great to see our young players grow in confidence, develop their skills and have plenty of fun on court each week. (We’ve still got some make-up sessions next term).

A huge thank you to our amazing coaches Allan Clements and Chris Oemke for their time, energy, and encouragement — we really appreciate everything you do for our juniors.

Thank you as well to our fantastic players for bringing the enthusiasm each week, and to our parents for your continued support of the club.

We were also proud to have two Junior Interclub teams representing Glen Eden this term. A great effort from all players involved, showing determination, teamwork, and great sportsmanship throughout the competition. (Final placings yet to be announced).

We wish everyone a Very Happy Easter, safe travels, and a relaxing holiday break.

Don’t forget — Thursday Fun Tennis will continue through the school holidays. We’re also aiming to have some Club action so you can hop along for some holiday hits, games, and fun on court!

The final games of the Junior Post Christmas Interclub Competition were wrapped up over the past weekend.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a full team available for our 18 Boys, resulting in a default for this round. This was such a shame as both Hriday and Xavier were on top form from last week. We’ll look forward to having them both back in action in the next Interclub competition.

Our Beginner Boys & Girls played their final ever match as “Beginners” — and what a way for them to finish!
Taking on the mighty Mission Bay, a team we also met in the pre-Christmas competition, it was as always, a competitive and evenly matched contest. The morning’s overall games ended in a single point difference, with each team winning one Doubles and two Singles matches, and a games total of 24 to Mission Bay and 25 to Glen Eden.

The girls Matilde and Emily combined beautifully to win their Doubles with a convincing 6-2.
While the boys Johnathan and Ken played hard, right down to a tie-breaker, narrowly going the way of Mission Bay after a very close battle.

Outstanding performances were had in the Singles matches as well, with Matilde winning 6-3 and Ken winning 6-1.

A HUGE thank you to both of our Interclub teams for their commitment, resilience and sportsmanship across the competition. Whether on court or supporting teammates, they’ve represented the club with pride. We are so incredibly proud of the effort, improvement, and personal growth shown by everyone this season. And we can’t wait to do it all again next season!!
