Curious and wise ruru is practicing one of the 5 pilates back shapes. She is practicing side flexion. Our favourite side flexion exercise is the mermaid we also love side lift from the mat work.

Here is another beautiful back shape demonstrated by the tiger. Back extension is so important to counteract all the time we spend slumped in seats and curled over our devices. Or for the tiger after sleeping is a good time to extend the spine and pandiculate ! What ???? Look it up !!! What exercises does this back shape happen in ?

Hi everyone! Andrea here…remember me?😁 Hope you’re all enjoying getting back into your Pilates classes after the holidays. Just wanted to say hi 👋 and know that even though I’m settling into life in the top of the south just fine, I still think of you Turning Tide folk & hope you’re all doing well ❤️

Just done my first couple of days teaching Pilates at the wonderful Onebodi Pilates studio in Motueka, so good to be back in another great studio!
