The final round of the Junior Strokeplay Champs was played on Sunday and we have our champion. Ryder Marshall was too good on the day taking the 🏆 with a solid 81 in Gusty conditions to go with his first round 77. Congratulations Ryder.
In second place and just 3shots off the pace was young Leo Spence. He’s a fair bit younger than the others but did a great job to take out second place and make Ryder work for the win.
Coming in third with an awesome start to the last round was Cash Haub. He played some great shots and did well but a few blow out holes saw his chances slip away.
And a shout out to our new young man who showed good skills, Bailey Niwa. Thanks for joining the boys and look forward to seeing more of you.
It was good to see a few members and parents out there supporting these young players, thanks for making the effort and cheering them on 👌

Round 1 of 2 for the junior strokeplay championship got underway Sunday around 11am. The conditions although fine were blustery but that didn’t stop our juniors from putting on a great show. Louie Emmitt birdied the first after his eagle putt slid by the hole and that set the tone for the day. The boys traded blows throughout the round with a lot of birdies to ensure the honour was shared around.
Watching from a distance it was easy to see what great sportsmanship all the boys showed. Throughout the day there was fist pumps and words of encouragement for each other.
One of our newer members Baily Niwa who hasn’t got a handicap yet shot an amazing 96gross. This boy can seriously hit a golf ball. Then Cash Haub showed his class with 2 x 2’s on the day, awesome job Cash. Leo Spence also got a 2.
Ryder Marshall 77gross and Louie Emmitt 78gross came in a close second and third for the day. I know they both could have done better but seriously boys that’s good golf and you’re still in the mix, well done.
Player of the day went to Leo Spence with an amazing 73gross to be leading by 4 going into the last round. What a great round of golf Leo, well done.
The boys will be teeing it up at 11am this Sunday 20th for the final round and it’s going to be a great battle to watch if you can make it.
Congratulations to you all and can’t wait to see you Sunday.

For various reasons I’ve decided to hold off on the junior trophy’s for a few weeks. I’ll let you know later of new dates.

Keep in mind the men’s strokeplay champs and qualifying for the match play is this Saturday and Sunday (the main reason for postponing) so I hope you’ll take the opportunity to play both days to try and win your divisions. Rock up by 11:15 latest to join in.
So sorry for the late notice.
