The Taylor Festival was held yesyerday at the Trusts Arena. An event for Beginner skaters and those starting their competitive artistic journey. The stadium was full of families and excitement as these skaters took to the floor, and celebrated on the podium.
Thanks to all the officials and volunteers who helped put it together.
Towards the end of the evening Little Nara McLaren was trying her hand at Sports Photography, so I shall upload her successful Images in the Next Album
NOW :
Our Usual disclaimers about the Images :0)
- The Images are all FREE, if there is an image of you, then you and your family are welcome to keep that and use it as you wish
- We cannot give away the unwater-marked version, as its easiest for us to auto process (over-write the original image) strait from the camera
- The Skate-NZ Board and Art Committee are the only exceptions to the above rule
- We are a volunteer social media for skating group, and as a general rule, we tend to miss around 70% of the events at competition
We will see you all at the next one (maybe Nationals)
Cheers :0)
A brief video overview from todays Taylor Festival hosted by Auckland Waitakere Roller Sports Club, at the Trusts Stadium
This is the last of all the content we have to upload from Northern Area's, and now the usual reminder that Skate-Nation is a not for profit social media group of volunteers trying to help the Roller Skating community. Basically - you cannot buy any images of us .... they are FREE! :0), so the athletes and their families can download their own images and enjoy them.

Thanks to Cyclone Vaianu the Northern Area Artistic Roller Champs here in Rotorua were halted Saturday afternoon, leaving the figures and long and freedance programmes for the combined grades remaining. Updates from the Artistic Committee if clarification on qualifications is required.
The team events kicked off the day instead of the traditional figures, then A great afternoon of dancing was watched with the style dance of Cadet/Junior and Senior dance competition. The senior Ladies had strong competitiom for the top spot in the dance event. After style dance Rebecca Wood showed she’s going from strength to strength improving on her
Smooth and strong style of dance, Sarah Johnson skated with all the power speed you would expect from an athlete of her calibre, and was in 2nd when the competition was called off.
Something new in the Area championships this year was the “Whakaaturanga Showcase”. this was a fun, no pressure grade, designed to enhance options for Dance/Showmanship and enable a fun event with alternative judging options, so artistic skaters such as Jam or Rhythm skaters could certainly excel in this event in the future, this time however, the grade was strongly dominated by TMAT – good job Ladies

We made it to Rotorua for Northern Areas, but without the laptop and connections for downloading the images, it seems. So there will some images from this weekend, but they won't be uploaded till Monday-ish.
So far the floor is grippy and rolling fast for most skaters, but with the 47m floor being shortened further, it did cause some challenges for the senior skaters this evening.
Calling all skaters, officials & coaches at the event !..
Find the posters in the foyer with the QR code for the SkateNZ Voice of Participant survey if you haven't already completed it.
This is for all artistic, speed, rink hockey & inline hockey participants around the country to complete the survey about your club experience. The posters will be travelling to Southern & Central Areas after this.
