What a fantastic three days of Masters Indoor Cricket at Hornby Indoor Cricket Stadium, with an incredible 34 games played across the trials weekend.

Players were certainly put through their paces, with a high standard of cricket on display throughout the weekend. The selectors certainly had a difficult task finalising the sides to represent New Zealand against Australia later this year.

A huge thank you must go to Hornby Indoor Cricket Stadium for hosting the trials, all of the umpires who adjudicated matches across the three days, and of course every player who put themselves forward and gave everything throughout the weekend.

Congratulations to all players and coaches selected in the squads pictured below.

The Trans-Tasman Masters Series against Australia will take place in Auckland from September 16–19, 2026.

Australia will name their squads following the completion of the Masters Nations tournament taking place next week in Australia.

Congratulations once again to everyone selected and all those involved over the weekend.

Trans-Tasman Masters Indoor Cricket Series Relocated to Auckland

Due to an unforeseen change in circumstances involving Hornby Indoor Cricket Stadium, the upcoming Trans-Tasman Masters Indoor Cricket Series has been rescheduled and will now be held in Auckland, with dates remaining unchanged from 16th to 19th September.

While this adjustment was not part of the original plan, the decision has been made in the best interests of ensuring the event is delivered to the standard expected by players, officials, and supporters on both sides of the Tasman. Auckland provides a strong alternative host venue with the facilities, experience, and infrastructure required to successfully stage an international Masters event of this level.

The Trans-Tasman Masters Series remains a key fixture on the indoor cricket calendar, showcasing experienced and highly skilled players representing New Zealand and Australia in what is always a fiercely competitive and well-contested series. Organisers are confident that the shift in location will maintain the integrity of the tournament and provide an excellent platform for players to perform.

We acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of Hornby Indoor Cricket Stadium in the lead-up to this event and understand that circumstances can change. Our focus now turns to delivering a seamless and successful Masters tournament in Auckland.

Further details, including confirmed venues and scheduling, will be communicated in due course.

We thank all teams, supporters, and stakeholders for their understanding and continued support.

Great to see the next generation of talent stepping up πŸ‘

Our Junior Coaches are currently travelling around the country, running regional selection camps ahead of the Junior World Series in South Africa this September.

Today’s camp in Auckland saw a fantastic turnout from both Northern Districts and Auckland regions. The energy and skill level on display made for an impressive start, with coaches encouraged by the depth of talent coming through.

The team now heads to Wellington tomorrow, before wrapping up the selection camps in Christchurch next weekend.

A real highlight this year is the introduction of the new 15 and Under Girls grade by the World Indoor Cricket Federation β€” a significant step forward for the game and an exciting opportunity for young players.

Our coaching line-up for the campaign:
β€’ 17 and Under Boys (Defending Champions): Andrew Richardson (Head Coach), Mathew Potter (Assistant)
β€’ 17 and Under Girls: Darron Stackhouse (Head Coach), Shelley Fruin (Assistant)
β€’ 15 and Under Boys: Jamie Bridewell (Head Coach)
β€’ 15 and Under Girls: Connor L***y (Head Coach)
β€’ 13 and Under Boys: Michael Rowland (Head Coach), Dale Ferris (Assistant)

Best of luck to all players attending the upcoming camps β€” the future is looking strong πŸ’ͺ

ICNZ Open Men and Women – Coach Application (2026–2028) 27/03/2026

ICNZ – Men’s & Women’s Coach Applications Open

Indoor Cricket New Zealand is now calling for applications for the Men’s and Women’s Head Coach positions.

Due to ongoing uncertainty and unrest globally, the planned Asia Cup has been postponed multiple times, and as a result New Zealand will not be participating in international competition this year for both programmes.

While this creates a different short-term landscape, it provides a strong opportunity to build, develop, and prepare squads for future international campaigns.

We are seeking coaches who can:

Lead high-performance environments
Build strong team culture and standards
Develop players and plan towards future international events

πŸ“… Applications close: 20 April 2026
