With the 2026 competition season now underway, we're excited to launch our new Road to Nationals series. ๐คธ
Over the coming months, we'll be sharing stories from across the gymnastics community as athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and supporters make their way toward the 2026 XP Gymnastics Nationals in Tauranga.
First up is Courtney McGregor.
After five years away from competitive gymnastics, Courtney returned to the sport while balancing medical studies and went on to claim the national title in 2025. In our first road to nationals story, she reflects on her comeback, finding perspective through sport, and why some of her favourite Nationals memories have little to do with results.

This Youth Week, weโre celebrating the young people helping shape our clubs and communities through gymnastics. โจ
At Hutt Valley Gymnastics , four young coaches are great examples of what can happen when young people are supported to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and grow as coaches.
From starting in the XTND programme at 12 years old to achieving international coaching qualifications, these young leaders are now coaching, leading, and giving back within their sport. Their journeys highlight the impact of investing in youth and creating opportunities for rangatahi to thrive.

This Youth Week, weโre celebrating the rangatahi who bring energy, creativity, leadership, and good vibes to our clubs and communities every day.
Gymnastics is shaped by young people in so many ways, not just through participation, but through the way they support teammates, build confidence, share ideas, and create positive spaces for others.
This week is a great reminder to listen, encourage, and make space for rangatahi voices to be heard.
This is a shout out to all the young people helping shape our sports across Aotearoa. ๐คธ๐
