🐾 A MESSAGE FROM JESS 🐾 I’ve been sitting with this message for a while, and it’s taken me some time to write. After 11 incredible years running Roar, I’ve made the difficult decision to pause the club for 2026. This decision has not come easily. Anyone who knows me knows I give 110% to everything I do and if I can’t do that, I feel like I’m letting people down. With baby number four due in April, and after a period of feeling genuinely burnt out, I need to take a step back and give myself the time to be present, for myself and my family. As many of you know, I’ve been involved in this sport since I was 2.5 years old, and I’ve honestly never taken a break. This sport has given me so much - friendships, confidence, purpose, and a lifetime of joy. And because I love it so deeply, I want to make sure it remains something I can continue to give to in a sustainable way long-term. I know this news may come as a surprise, but I truly believe a year away can also offer something positive for our dancers: 🐾 a chance to learn from other teachers 🐾 experience new environments 🐾 and continue to grow in fresh and exciting ways. To the families who have supported me year after year, and to the girls who have been so loyal and committed - thank you. You have been the heart of this club and the reason I’ve kept showing up through every busy season of life. I am so incredibly proud of everything we’ve built together. Thank you for your understanding, your kindness, and your continued support. Roar has meant the world to me, and so have the families and dancers who have been part of it.

Showcase Day 2025 💕🐾💕
One of our favourite (and most hectic!) days of the year!

We were lucky enough to have Joel from .mvmt capturing photos this year — I’ll share them as soon as they’re ready. But for now, here’s a little throwback… our 2020 Showcase (our first at Raye Freedman Arts Centre) to today.

It honestly never goes unnoticed or unappreciated seeing so many of you in the theatre. It means the world to me to have such incredible support for the girls…the energy from the audience makes all the difference. When I think back from 2020 to now and see how far we’ve come, it’s pretty epic.

The girls performed so beautifully - we’re so, so proud of them. They truly danced with pride. 💕🖤💕 Can’t wait to share more soon! xx

“I am very excited to join the team at Roar Calisthenics and to meet each and every one of the parents and students. Born and raised in Australia, my passion for movement started young. As an active child, I was often found flipping around at gymnastics or immersed in a variety of dance classes. My love for working with children led me to begin coaching netball. After moving to New Zealand in 2020, I pursued teaching gymnastics, and now I’m excited to share my love for calisthenics. I can’t wait to start this new journey and look forward to working with each of you!”
