I’ve been binge watching the Winter Olympics in the last couple of days and this episode made me tear up.
Zoi Sadowski-Synnott just finished her last run and her rivals - Tess Coady (AU) and Julia Marino (US) - recognised the brilliance of her run and jumped on top of her cheering, laughing, celebrating what turned out to be Zoi’s gold medal!
This is what true sportsmanship means to me. This is what women uplifting and cheering each other looks like. 🙌🏼
Who cheered you on your success recently?

It is really easy to let the constant feelings of uncertainty get you down.

Monday... But it's not just another Monday. For many it's the first day back after a Christmas break.
How are you feeling? If you are somewhat panicked, here are a few tips:
❦ Start your day a bit earlier. Allow extra time to wake up, have a lovely cup of coffee, have a nice breakfast and decide what you are going to wear. Rushing is not your friend this morning!
❦ You will probably be coming back to a few hundreds of emails and you will need to time to sort them. Go slow, don't panic. If something is extra urgent, they will call you.
❦ Take your 'out of office' message off, but replace it with 'it's my first day back' and let your contacts know that you're in the office again and catching up. Just in case they are expecting you to reply on your first morning back...
❦ Chat with your team mates. Some of us are blessed to go back to offices and catch up with colleagues in person, some are still in virtual environments. Make an effort to regardless of your situation: see a few people in your office kitchen or a cafe or reach out via Zoom or Teams.
❦ Feel ok with going back into it slowly. Remembered all your network passwords today? It's a win! Cleared your emails? Amazing! You will need some time to fully get back into it. It will take a few days, so don't feel guilty.
❦ Remember to pause, breathe and carry that little piece of holiday with you. Try to hold on to that relaxed feeling you experienced in the last few weeks. You can go back there any time you like. Just take a break, close your eyes and visualise how you felt on your recent break.
Have a lovely Monday!

Did you know that around 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail before February? That is a huge number!
But, why is that?
We make these because they are things that are important to us. So why do we struggle to follow through on them?
Well, often we aren’t ready in ourselves for these big changes. Also, we don’t have an accountability structure in place that will help us to sustain the change long term. And we have a nasty habit of getting in our own way, letting internal fear of achieving the big goal hold us back.
Resolutions generally involve big, audacious goals that require a lot of change and commitment. Those changes aren’t always in line with our core , so cause us to fail unintentionally.
That’s why a word of the year can be more powerful in helping create change. It aligns with your values and helps you stay on track in a less imposing way.

Have you ever attended a party or celebration that had a theme? Like an 80’s party or a Hollywood glamour dress-up dance? If so, you’ll know how themes can help create a vibe or ambience.
When organising a themed event, you don’t have to think too hard about what to wear, what food and drink to serve, what music to play, or how to decorate: you simply refer to your theme and let it guide you.
Well, think of next year as your party, and your word of the year as the theme.
