Kingsland Martial Arts is a community martial arts club that focuses on the style of Hapkido. Hapkido is Korean in origin, is eclectic in nature (in that we study a wide range of techniques, from strikes to throws) and is extremely effective for self defence. 8 years. More than half her life. That how long Harri has been training with us. One of the 15 people who graded to black belt, her journey has been a pleasure to watch.

A huge day for the club yesterday. 15 of you graded to black belt. 9 to Junior black belt and 6 to 1st Dan. This is the largest black belt grand in Nz Hapkido history. Well done to you all. There was a lot of great technique shown and some amazing attitude and perseverance. Thanks to our grading panel of Master Callum, Andy and Mark. And a big thanks to all the families who saw thru the whole day.

Great to have Master Andy ( my first instructor) along on Monday. He ran us over some drills we’ve not done in a long time. Eagle eyes will also pick out who’s made a welcome return to the club.
