2026 Southern Dirtfest
Class 8 Winners 🥇
P5 Overall
Day 1, we managed to take two wins and a third in the short course races which is pretty pleasing for my first short course event in the truck.
We qualified 4th for the Sunday 250km Enduro, where we got off to a good start popping into 3rd....until the weather turned ⛈️
Towards the end of the first 28km lap, the grass turned into an ice skating rink and in the blink of an eye we were backwards through a fence 😬
We managed to carry on and finish the lap, but decided to pull in as the truck was an absolute handful in those conditions. On return to the pits we found that we had a damaged rim and flat tyre...probably thanks to a fence post!
We jumped back in once the conditions had settled and punched out some fast laps (including the fastest lap of the race) to make our way back to 6th, which gave us 5th place overall for the weekend.
We absolutely loved the track - it was the most fun I've had in ages, so credit to the Otago Offroad Racing Club and Slim for putting this together. We also appreciated being able to camp at the track all weekend 🤝
Big thanks to Dad for letting me drive the beast and riding along with me, it's pretty cool to be able to do this together!
