Take a bow young man!

What a superb final in the North Island Championship for Jett Randall in the VMR class. P2 against 34 of NZ’s top drivers 🔥

All weekend he showed top pace, clean and mature driving, at a track he had only visited a week prior. In the final he fought all the way up to second position and traded positions between P2 & P3. As the kart in first position received a penalty for an incident, the North Island title was going to go to the driver who finished P2. Jett crossed the line in a drag race just behind at a time difference of 0.013 of a second!!!! Try get that on your stop watch!

You had us at home up off the couch yelling at the screen 🙂 Keep up the great work Jett, we are all very proud of you back at home. South Island title at Nelson in a couple weekends time is looking good! 🏁

🔥 Update on the North Island Champs being held in the Hawkes Bay this weekend. Our young VMR member, Jett Randall (number 18) has had a cracking day one and Pre Final today.

In a very competitive field of 34 of NZs top drivers he has racked up the following results:

Qualified P6 (out of 34)
H1: P6 - P18 (caught up in an incident)
H2: P6 - P4
H3: P6 - P3
Pre-final: P6 - P11 (P5 over the line but got a penalty)
Final: starting P7

Jett is showing some great pace and race craft all weekend. It all comes down to the final this afternoon and starting in P7 on the inside line, he’s in a great position to make some gains. Go well Jett!!!

Jett went up North last weekend to learn the track and compete in their club day. He got to grips really fast, finished P3 in the final and even broke the lap record! The record fell again by one of the North Island drivers later in the day but it just shows how far Jett has come and what results can come from commitment, hard work and dedication to racing.

🔥 More awesome progress and development at the club! Our projects team Blake Greenfield, Rob Blick and Chris Harris have worked hard to tidy up the Western side of our facility. They have built us a new fence and put down some fresh concrete, along with a wash pad for our groundskeeper, Dave McConway. It looks so good and fresh!

Thanks team for the great vision and continued work to keep our track looking and operating the best it can!

🚨 We ask that no one parks or walks on the new concrete over the coming week as we need to allow time for it to cure.

Thanks to everyone that stopped by at the Karting Marlborough display at the Festival of Wheels! What a great day out and event! Our display was non stop for three hours!

The highlight for us was seeing the excitement on the kids faces having their first seat in a go kart

Thanks to all our members for bringing their karts out and answering questions and inspiring the next generation of club members!

We look forward to seeing you all at our next race day on 29th November.

🔥 WOW what a day! Our first Mini Enduro to celebrate Bathurst Weekend event went off with a bang! We had it all:

💥 Cold tyre Sprint race strategies
💥 Lap Records reset - Briggs Junior & Briggs Heavy
💥 Pit stop strategies - some worked to absolute perfection!
💥 Safety Kart periods with a real Safety Kart!
💥 Lots of laughs with the random pit stop challenge - there were some very interesting answers for the quiz and some superb art pieces drawn 🤣
💥 18x Briggs back on track with some great battles
💥First time running our new timing and message boards - what a game changer for our facility!
💥 15x Bucket bikes putting on a show
💥 Great weather!
💥 High energy racing

The list goes on!

Thank you to all those that entered and took part, this event was all about having a bit of fun and doing something a bit different. I think it’s fair to say we will be keeping this one on our calendar moving forward.

Thank you so much to our team of volunteers and awesome team of officials. Especially our kitchen and bar team, Sharon, Dianne, Izzy and Linda who navigated the hot temperatures and kept everyone fed and watered!
