Congratulations to our skip, our big man, Jaiden Hollis on his cap game for MBC Basketball. Jaiden has been a part of our Basketball program for 4 years and is ending his second season in the Senior A side. His leadership has shone through this season after being awarded the duel captaincy. He wears the gold and blue with pride and we thank him very much for his commitment to this side. Well done Jaiden 🦅🦅🦅

Game 24 for the season ended in a very clinical 32 point win against Lincoln High. A big part of this victory, and many successes that MBC Basketball has had over the past 4 years, is the man himself, Tylen Bassett. Congratulations Tylen on your MBC Basketball Cap game this afternoon. You have grown so much, in all aspects, over the past 4 years. You are ultra athletic, hard working, skilled, dynamic, a team player and you are often left to do the hard yards down low for this team, rebounding and our last line of defense. Well done young man 🦅🦅🦅

Congratulations to our first ever recipient of a MBC Basketball Cap, playing his 23rd game for the Senior A side, Dylan Gifford. Dylan is in his 3rd year of top level Basketball for MBC after making the Junior A side in both Year 9 and 10 and then making our Senior A side as a year 11 student. Dylan is a dynamic point guard who prides himself on his court vision, ball security, outside shooting, driving and finishing and resolute defense. He has a massive future in the game and we congratulate him on his MBC Basketball Cap. 🦅🦅🦅

Over the next week we will have 4 MBC Basketball teams representing the Falcons across the South Island tournaments. This is a first for MBC and shows how far our Basketball program has come. Good luck to our Junior A and Junior B sides who kick off their tournaments today. We know you lads will do the Falcons proud. We are all there in behind you. Plenty more photos to come I am sure. Our MBC Senior and Junior B sides had an epic trip over to the West Coast earlier this week. We managed to squeeze 4 games for each team into the 2 day trip which was valuable prep for tournament week. The boys did the College proud with their on court effort but also with their off court behavior and attitude. Huge thanks to Bucky, Ollie, Stephen and Susie for looking after the boys and to the parents who traveled to support the teams.

2 of our 6 competitive MBC teams have finished their seasons with an awesome trip down to play Kaikoura High. This concludes the main competitions for the Junior and Senior Falcons sides. We will thank the legends involved with these teams at our annual MBC Basketball prizegiving late in Term 3 but for now, MBC Basketball would like to pass on a heartfelt thanks to the amazing volunteers who have given up hours of their time and energy to the development of our lads.
