SUNDAY THE 20th ( tomorrow) THE COURSE WILL BE CLOSED!
The parents, students and teachers of Huntley School are having a day on the course. The course will be closed for the day, reopening as usual on Monday.

On Friday the ladies had their Greensome Foursome tournament. In beautiful weather the ladies took on the fabulous course and played some great golf.
The winners of the day were, Allie Bary and Gaylene Jones, taking away the Fay Pedley cup for the best local team, with 38 points.
Big thanks must go to Graeme Hendra for his wonderful continuous sponsorship for this tournament. With out sponsors like this the tournaments wouldn’t be able to go ahead. Thank you Graeme, and to Lindy coming to the prize giving.
Lastly A Big thanks to all the players that supported this tournament.

A really nice day was on show for the Marton Golf Club on Saturday.
Another trophy was up for grabs and it was the Doug Pedley Memorial Trophy.
This Trophy was for the best 3 rounds out of 5 over the past months with the final round played on Saturday.
The excellent scoring of one of our senior members who has been with the club for quite some time saw Pete Skou with the top score for the day of 43 points to give him a total of 113 points and the winning score for the cup.
Congratulations Pete and thanks for the history that you shared with the members regarding Doug Pedley.

Saturday at the Marton Golf Club saw the final round of the annual McDonald Mugs Trophy competition played.
With 14 teams at the start they all fought hard to leave two teams left for the final round.
This year the finalists were Liam Bremner and Alan Simmons and they played off against Graham Marshall and Richard Ellery.
A tough battle carried on through most of the round with victory finally going to Liam Bremner and Alan Simmons.
Congratulations and well done Liam and Al.

The crew is all set up for the McVerry Crawford motor group and BJW golf tournament today.
Weather is good let’s hope there is some good scoring out on the course today!

COURSE CLOSED!!!!
MARTON GOLF COURSE HAS A VERY BUSY FEW DAYS AHEAD!!
The course will be closed, SUNDAY 6th (McVerry Crawford BJW par 3 tournament) and MONDAY 7th( 4 day classic Vets tournament)
The course will be open for play on Tuesday 8th September.
Hope everyone playing over these 2 days will enjoy the course.

Saturday the 29th saw a par competition at the Marton Golf Club and this round included the final round of the Coleman Cup.
This was a competition where the top qualifiers and ties went in to the final list of 15 players to compete for the Coleman Cup.
Conditions of the day were not too bad but the wind showed it's presence to make play somewhat challenging for most.
The one player that showed his skills and played a very good round despite the conditions was our Club President Glenn Jongen who won the cup with an impressive score of plus 3.

The runner up was Jarrod Calkin.
