I’ll be completely honest with everyone I’m now residing in New Zealand on the start of my across the world travel, do I miss football? Yes!
But I probably won’t be visiting another ground for up to a year.

Otherwise I’ll see you back when I’m hopping from ground to ground again! Thank you all for following and I enjoyed meeting so many people so I recommend if to people if you’re looking for a new hobby on weekends and even weekdays!

After pre season, and the first week of EFL that I missed last week due to personal issues I’ve decided to leave the house for this game on Saturday at the project solar stadium!
Looking forward to getting back into it!

#19 20/05/2023 - Edgeley Park home to Stockport County!

Where to begin… one word I’d use to describe this game is Dramatic!

Stockport came into this game 1-0 down on aggregate after the away game.
The sun was shining and the fans were singing. I was fortunate to sit in the ‘Cheadle End’ and I was gripped by the atmosphere straightaway!
With the first half being a stalemate and county not getting into the game too much, the second half wasn’t the same!

County took the lead with a brilliant header from Olaofe in the 68th minute which seen the game to extra time.

Extra time was similar with the first 15 not providing much but then in the second 15 it came to life with Salford scoring a deflected long strike in the 112th minute putting them ahead in the tie…. Surely that was game over you’d think… well think again. In the 115th minute the home side drew level in the tie once again with another header this time guided in at the back post, which seen edgeley erupt, penalties was on the horizon.

The order of penalties were as follows:
🔴 Lund ❌ 0-1 🔵 Madden ✅
🔴 Mariappa ❌ 0-1 🔵 Croasdale ❌
🔴 Barry ✅ 1-2 🔵 Collar ✅
🔴 Malian ❌ 1-3 🔵 Sarcevic ✅

Up next for the hatters?!? WEMBLEY!

Stockport County (2) 2–2 (2) Salford City - Stockport County win 3-1 on penalties.

STOCKPORT COUNTY HAVE DONE IT, they are going to Wembley and now in with a chance of playing league 1 football next season!

This hurts to say but well done to Sheffield Wednesday, one of the greatest comebacks in football and I do believe the greatest comeback in play off history. (Tell me if I’m wrong)

Peterborough players… I don’t think they can hold their heads up high to let such a lead slip.
Was it the game plan? They didn’t look a scratch on the team I watched last Friday.
Commiserations to the travelling Peterborough fans.
We might just get our South Yorkshire derby next season!
