Hi Everyone,

With winter sports nearing a close it’s that time of year where we start preparing for the upcoming summer tennis season at Burwood Park Tennis Club.

Online Registration is now available for the upcoming 2021/22 tennis season please visit http://www.burwoodparktennisclub.kiwi Please note that all registrations will be done online.
When completing your online registration please process payment at the same time, only financial members will be allowed to take part in interclub. Registration is only completed once payment is received, juniors will not be assigned an interclub team if no payment is made.

After receiving the rules from Tennis Canterbury on 13 August 2021 please note some changes for Interclub players below!

Tennis Canterbury has made changes to the format of interclub from last year with now only having 10's, 12's, 14's and Open (15+) age groups. All age groups will be separated by divisions (1, 2, 3, etc...)
Friday division 1 in all age groups is essentially the replacement of Challenger so these grades will be playing full sets on Friday evenings. Everything else, division 2 downwards, is essentially the same but 10's and 12's will now play a full set to 6 with a tiebreaker at 6 all instead of a sudden death game at 5 all.
Tennis Canterbury has stated that all players must play in their allocated age bands,
eg: a 9-year-old must play in the 10's
No exceptions, unless a dispensation is given to a high nationally ranked player.

No-let rule, if a serve hits the net, players must now play on if the ball lands in the service box.
Also, juniors 14/u must play a TCRI Junior Competition (either Friday or Saturday interclub) to be eligible to play Senior Competition.

There is a very short window to organise and enter teams, see communication from Tennis Canterbury below
"once entries have closed, all grades and entries will be reviewed by the TCRI CAG Junior Sub Group with TCRI's decision on team placement being final. Team entries open 23/08/2021 and team entries close on the 27/09/2021"

UTR cancelled today.

Another wet Tuesday. All tennis cancelled today

Unfortunately the sun has come out too late...
Courts won't be ready in time for play today. All coaching cancelled for the afternoon.

Courts are still wet from all the weekend rain. A decision on today's coaching will be made at 230pm. Thanks for your patience

Due to the conditions of the courts the UTR is cancelled for today and will be played tomorrow at the original scheduled times (Sunday). Play will commence at 10am and courts will be open at 9:30am weather permitting
