Tema has stepped into the ring twice wearing our singlet, and we couldn’t be more proud of her.

She came to us at the start of the year and we have absolutely pushed her out of her comfort zone. She’s taken on 2 tough fights in the last few weeks. Stepping into the ring for her first amateur bout up against an strong opponent and only a couple of weeks later she then went 3 rounds, going the full distance, with current #2 National Elite Womens boxer Lydia Green.

Tema, moving to a new gym isn’t easy, stepping into the ring isn’t easy, doing your first novice champs isn’t easy, going up against the second ranked fighter in Nz isn’t easy - but you’ve done these things.

Out on the field, putting in the extra work. While most people are lapping up the weekend, a few of the boys are lacing up and getting their extra work in as we build towards Novice Champs in a couple of weeks.

These are the sessions that don’t always get seen, the hard runs, the heavy breathing, the quiet moments where you choose to push past the point where it would be easier to stop.

Every sprint, every rep outside the gym is about stepping a little further outside the comfort zone. Come fight night, there’s no guessing, just trust in the work that’s been done. We make sure our fighters step into the ring knowing they’ve prepared properly, with every tool they need and the confidence that comes from earning it.
