The team are for Gumboot Friday

This event helps raise funds for free mental health counselling for kids. Depression can feel like walking through mud, so by wearing gumboots and giving a gold coin on gumboot Friday we are showing our support, and taking a walk in their shoes for just one day.

We’ve provided the link below if you’ll like to get involved: https://givealittle.co.nz/org/keytolife

🌸Spring has arrived in full force here at The Canterbury Agricultural Park - it is covered with blossoming trees!🌸

It’s one of the most rewarding parts working in the rural sector is seeing the beauty across the country. 🏔

🌱This week is mental health awareness week and today’s theme is to get outside in nature with someone. 🌱

It can be easy to take working on the land for granted especially at this time of the year when the season is insanely busy. Taking a moment to appreciate the surroundings is the breath of fresh air we need at times. 🐏

It’s a beautiful day in Canterbury today - if you are nearby, feel free to pop in and enjoy The Park. 🐾

🐑Newborn lambs bouncing around the park!🐑

At the best of times, it can feel very isolating at this time of year for many in the rural sector - with calving and lambing in full swing - lockdown especially adds to those feelings of isolation.

Without the ability to meet for a quick yarn or beer with your mates it can get very lonely slogging it out there. Take it day by day and remember to reach out to your mates over text or a call if you can.
Stay safe and take care out there folks! 💪

Although allowing for some beautiful photos around Canterbury, this snow event has come right in the thick of calving and lambing. 🐑 🐄
Our thoughts are with the farming community during this time. Stay safe and stay strong battling these elements. 💪🏼

🌳🌳🌳Planting project.🌳🌳🌳

Trees are a vital part of Canterbury Park. Not only for their aesthetical beauty but also for helping to improve the local ecology around the Park and to preserve soil health and stability.

Tree management is an important role here at the Park. Besides tree planting - this role also includes tree pruning, watering, and adding natural fertilizers - such as horse manure from our stables. These practices all help to optimize the health and strength of each tree

Last week the operations team was hard at work planting more trees. All in a day's work! 💪
