BEARS Motorcycle Club race dates for the rest of the season have been confirmed so make sure you put these in your calendar!

Redwood Physio BEARS Championship 2026

Round 2 - 28 June

Round 3 - September 20

Round 4 - November 7

Round 5 - December 6. This will be the final round & prize giving

SOUND of THUNDER 2027 26-28 February

Sound of Thunder next year will include the American Iron Grand Prix with some big prize money up for grabs. We will also have American themed displays and feature bikes. So it you have a Buell, EBR, Indian, Harley or anything American you wont want to miss this one.

Remember too, the BEARS AGM and Evening Forum is coming up on July 1st. This is an important meeting as we need to discuss how increasing restraints on available track hires and escalating costs will effect us and how BEARS racing will look in the future. Hi everyone, these quick release goggle straps are now available but under MNZ rules they are not permitted for racing as per rule 8.2n.
If you turn up to a race meeting with these fitted to your helmet you will not be able to race with that helmet.

The BEARS Motorcycle Club AGM & Evening forum was held on Wednesday July 1st. Minutes from the meeting, Presidents report and financial statements will be posted on our website soon.

Secretary - Mike Todd - Unopposed
Treasurer - Vacant (Edson Guerero resigned from this role)

Committee: Edson Guerero, Eamonn Stockman, Glenn Corson, Pete Buss, Tony Blanchet. Co-opt member Kelly Jenkins.

Treasurers’ duties in the short term will be shared amongst the committee members but we are looking for a fulltime replacement. Please get in touch with the club if are interested in this position or know someone that might be. You don’t need to be an accountant but some experience with Xero and basic cash handling would be preferred.

After the AGM there was an hour and a half forum session where we discussed the issues facing the club and possible solutions. Some ideas for future investment, events and race classes etc.

The BEARS president Murray (Muzza) Sutherland on the Britten bike at the 2026 Sound of Thunder! We will be handing out Britten Museum passes to randomly selected entrants of this Sunday's Redwood Physiotherapy Clinic 2026 Bears Championship R2.
