We are one week out from 2026 CPA Provincials!

Spectators are more than welcome so please come along to Nga Puna Wai Sports on Saturday 21st March. Lifting starts at 9am for Session 1.
We will have the CPA AGM at the completion of Session 2, so stay later for that!
This year we even have $250 voucher for SBD New Zealand for the best overall.
Comp scales will be available at the venue the night before from 6-8pm, if lifters would like to check their weight before hand.
This event will be live-streamed, the link will be posted closer to the date.
As always this is a drug free event.
A reminder that Powerlifting singlets are required for all lifters and knee high socks for deadlifts.

For our second competition of the year we are back at Nga Puna Wai in Christchurch for CPA Provincials! Entries are open now and close 11:59PM Thursday 5th of March.
This year we will also have prizes from SBD New Zealand!

This comp is open to all first time lifters and CPA members. Please note, if you have ever lifted in an NZPF and/or CPA sanctioned competition previously, you must now be a registered NZPF/CPA member.
All members must wear a soft suit. All lifters must wear knee high socks for deadlifts, so please remember those!

Happy New Year!
For our first competition of the year we are heading to Nelson for our February Novice / Club Competition on the 14th February. Entries are open now and close 11:59PM 20th January.
This competition is for one day only and limited to 56 lifters, so register ASAP to secure your spot.

We’re thrilled to announce the 2026 Canterbury Powerlifting competition calendar!
We’re bringing our February novice comp up to Nelson. Entries will be opening soon, so keep an eye out! We’re about two months out, so it’s the perfect time to start prep!
For all of our Christchurch-based events, we’ll continue to host at the Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub. And remember, we’ll need volunteers for all these competitions, so mark those dates in your calendars.
We can’t wait to see you at a competition next year!

🏆 CANTERBURY RAW CUP 2025 RESULTS 🏆
Congratulations to all lifters it was great to see a range of new lifters just starting to those who have been around a while.

With our next competition being Raw Cup on 25th October with two sessions, we need more volunteers.
No experience is needed and we can show you how to do everything on the day!
You will be supplied with drinks, snacks and lunch for your efforts.

A few weeks ago we had a few of our CPA members compete at the 2025 IPF Sub-Junior & Junior Worlds in Costa Rica.

Entries are now open for Raw Cup 2025 on the 25th - 26th October at Nga Puna Wai.
Sessions will run over Saturday and Sunday depending on number of entries, so be prepared to lift either day. Timetable will be confirmed closer to the date.
If this is your first competition as novice lifter then you are not required to wear a singlet, however you must wear a t-shirt and shorts with knee high socks for deadlifts to be able to compete.
