Te Waka Humarie. We grow together. An U15 rugby festival in Christchurch at North Hagley Park When these qualities are displayed the integrity of all is enhanced.
Te waka humarie means to grow together in the spirit that is understood and shared by all. The intention is for all participants to be together in the same waka (canoe). The humarie (spirit) of this festival is developed by being gracious, humble, willing and supportive. The Festival symbol represents these four qualities.

Matches Festival Day 2 - didn't quite escape the rain. . .
No cancellations for Sunday. Games will go ahead. Please be aware that the Chch Marathon is on tomorrow and Hagley Park is part of the course. There will be extra people and activity in the park because of this.

MVP. Most Valuable Player awards will be presented by a special guest at the Award Ceremony. Please select a player from your team(s). Collect certificates at the start for presentation. Te Waka Humarie Award will also be presented for girls and boys.
Sunday April 12. There are no changes to the draw for Sunday. Please be aware that rain is forecast for most of the day. Gazebos will be available to store gear. There will be tarps available as well. We request your attendance at the Award Ceremony at the Girls High School Gym across the road on Matai Street East. Sharp start at 3.30, or as soon as everyone gets there. Hot pizza and fizz for all. Finish by 4pm

A great day at the Matches Festival 2026. Brezzy but sunny and some great rugby. Thanks to all the wonderful supporters that lined the sidelines. And the players from the South Island and New Zealand who helped make this Festival another great success.
