Quite a few people have been asking us how this show came about being a Grand Nationals qualifier and how excited and thankful they are, so this is how it came about ✨

If you haven't been to Grand Nationals it is an absolute must do on your bucket list, the excitement of riding in that arena with that atmosphere is incredible and you meet so many new friends its heartwarming.

So after competing there again this year and experiencing that with Olivia we decided to reach out to Show Horse Council Australaisa and see how we could introduce these qualifying classes into our own NZ Summer Spectacular schedule.

Fast forward a few months of emails and here we are.
We are an affiliate associate of Show Horse Council Australasia!!

We only asked for rider qualifying classes this year but if enough interest is there we could look at the horse qualifying classes too later on.

Each Champion & Reserve Champion in the qualifying classes qualify to compete at Grand Nationals 🤩

It really is very exciting 🇳🇿🐴 🌟

Just a wee updated timetable for you all, Day 1 is still the same, however please see amended Day 2 starting earlier (so should not affect Paul lessons already booked) and added Grand National Qualifier rider classes 🤩

We're thrilled to announce that the 2026 New Zealand Summer Spectacular Show will now include Grand National Qualifying Rider Classes! 🎉

This is an exciting opportunity for riders to gain qualifying results to compete at Grand Nationals in Sydney while enjoying everything our Summer Spectacular has to offer.

These classes will be held at end of Sunday after all the title classes, to enter these qualifier rider classes you MUST be a Show Horse Council member.

Whether you're chasing Grand National qualification or simply looking forward to a fantastic weekend of competition, the 2026 show is shaping up to be one you won't want to miss!

🔥Paul Austin lessons are now available for lessons over Saturday & Sunday showdays!
$145 for 30 minute lesson (could be treated as a warmup before classes)
$160 for 45 minute lesson

After a big day competing, come on down to the Dunstan Horsefeeds BBQ & Hobby Horse Races! 🌭 🐴 🎉

The BBQ will be firing up while the kids take over with some fun filled hobby horse racing! Dress up, get creative, and join in the laughs.
