Unfortunately it wasn't to be.

Full credit to the Blues outfit who were simply too strong and capitalised on some disposal errors and inefficient kicking from us. They deserved the win.

We'd like to thank all the CAFL committee, the umpires, the volunteers, all players, all clubs and the people behind the clubs for their commitment to footy in Canterbury this season. 💪

The Dogs are incredibly proud of this season and what we've built together. We'll be back without a doubt. 🐕

What a tight, closely fought contest! We stood strong against the fast-finishing Eagles outfit and got it done when it mattered! 💪

Some inaccurate kicking and a few key outs had this a little closer than we would've liked, but finals footy isn't meant to be easy!

Player of the Day: Jack Penniket - defensive efforts and leadership were immense! Put a stop to one of the most dangerous forwards in the competition in a tightly fought battle! 🔥

This will be the 3rd year in a row the Bulldogs and Blues face each other in the big one. The Dogs are determined to put a stop to the reign!

Player of the Day: Firthy - Elijah Firth - clinical from the backline and breaking lines with ease! Awesome to see him put on the performance we all knew he was capable of! 🚀

What a day! Got the win in another battle on AFL Grand Final day! 💪 Several key position trials and movements had us experimenting, and the boys adapted beautifully! Now we've got 3 teams sitting relatively evenly at the top of the ladder - each one as hungry as ever to go the distance!

Player of the Day: Aaron Arnold - this debutant is going from strength to strength across our backline! Putting his body on the line and giving us huge speed and strength on the exit! What a find! Potentially best OFF ground on Saturday too🔥

The Doggies celebrated the victory AND the AFL Grand Final with a massive viewing party and court session in the evening... so yeah, our social media team might have been a bit slow getting this up! 😂🍻

What a contest! Taking home the chocolates against the previously unbeaten Eagles! 💪 Great battle all day and we found a way to get it done when it mattered most with the Eagles storming home in the last quarter!

Player of the Day: Clancy - absolutely relentless all day and pivotal off our half backline! Putting his body on the line for his teammates and providing plenty of run on the rebound.
