Closing Day for the season was held last Saturday afternoon. A large group of members attended. We began with bowls, followed by prize giving and then afternoon tea and refreshments. The weather was great, the attendees were great and the afternoon events were great. A nice afternoon enjoyed by all!

On Saturday April 13 we hosted a triples tournament. 16 teams made up of current members, guests from other bowling clubs and representatives from Bowls Canterbury and Bowls New Zealand. The teams fought well and the top 5 teams were rewarded with cash prizes.
In the evening 90 past and present members and Bowls Canterbury and Bowls New Zealand reps enjoyed a dinner and evening of fun at the clubrooms. This was a very successful event and was the culmination of a wonderful centenary week for the club.
A special thanks to the centenary committee and to Richard Falloon and Stu Dalley who gave many insights into the colourful club history!

We celebrated our Club Centenary over the weekend. 1924-2024. Celebrations began on Wednesday 10 April with an afternoon tea for present and past members and friends. There was a great attendance of over 60 people, and many took the advantage to discuss their participation in the club over the years. A successful afternoon

Good morning,
Because of the inclement weather over the last couple of days and the likelihood of this continuing, the decision has been made to close the green until further notice. This is unfortunate but it has been an early start to the season.
The Brenda Dalley Triples Trophy will be postponed to a later date.
A reminder to all to check the noticeboard regularly for upcoming events and to get your entries in.
These upcoming events will also be posted via weekly newsletters and Facebook.
A further reminder – the clubrooms are open this afternoon (and every Friday) from 4.30pm so come on down for a drink and a laugh!

Top Dog
The very popular Top Dog event will be underway again, starting on Tuesday evening 26 September and continuing every Tuesday throughout the season. The event starts at 6.00pm and finishes around 7.00pm (names to be entered by 5.45pm). This is a drawn pairs 2-4-2 competition. Each game is 2 ends, and 3 games are played. There is a barbecue and great prizes. Entry fee is $5 each.
Top Dog is for everyone, and we warmly invite members, family, friends, and members of other clubs to come along and enjoy the fun.

The Club had a working bee last Saturday. This was very successful with more than 20 members and helpers turning up. There was a bit of a staggered start to proceedings with some people keen to wait until the end of the rugby test before coming down! The savouries for morning tea were exceptional. The green and surrounds look fantastic and with the weather forecast positive, we are very much looking forward to Opening Day which is this Saturday 16 September at 1.00pm.
We will organise some teams & put down a few bowls and this will be followed by afternoon tea. See you all there!
Programme cards for the 2023-24 season will be available for all. The Bowls Canterbury handbook will also be available in the next couple of weeks for those interested.

Busy Saturday morning with the working bee well underway prepping for next Saturday's opening day.
For anyone interested in playing bowls at Cashmere then come along to our open day on Saturday, 16th September at 1.00pm.
We warmly welcome potential bowlers who would like to play casual bowls or club bowls on Wednesday & Saturday afternoons. We have plenty of club bowls available to use & coaching is freely available.
We also have a busy interclub season beginning in mid-October. This is a great way to improve your game, meet interesting people, and get the chance to play at a number of clubs in the Canterbury region. If you are interested, come to opening day or contact the club by phone or email.
