Thank you to all the sailors and supporters who came along today to celebrate our 2025-26 Season Closing Day.
A varied fleet of 29 boats took to the waters of Moncks Bay to contest the mark foy race.
The Presidents Trophy, raced for by the Senior fleet was won by Luke Riedinger and Vaughan Bamford racing Luke's Flying Dutchman
The Flag Officers Trophy for the Junior Fleet was won by Lewin Smith-Goertgens in his Open Skiff
The Ruth and Cliff Stemmer Family Closing Day Youth Trophy (Starlings) was won by Kieran Ivory in his Starling
Following racing, we celebrated the closing of the season in the clubrooms, with some fantastic food from the marvelous kitchen team of Chris, Kaye, Faye and their helpers.
It was fantastic to see so many boats out on the Estuary this afternoon, with good fleets racing at Pleasant Point Yacht Club and Mount Pleasant Yacht Club - easily over 70 boats out racing between our three clubs!

Massive congratulations to C*C youth sailor, Oak Galbraith, who placed 1st in the Starling class at the PredictWind Girls Regatta at the Kohimarama Yacht Club in Auckland over the weekend. Sailed in light winds, the podium positions were shared around most of the top sailors. Oak won one of the races, and came second in another two during the 5 race series

It was a fantastic day of racing at yesterdays Beveridge Trophy. A light sea breeze filled in through the day, providing just the right amount of wind at the 2.30pm start time
A fleet of 28 boats of all shapes and sizes, including Optimists, Starlings, Zephyrs, ILCAs, OK, Int. Moth, Cropp 4.6 and a Hartley 16 which made for some tricky handicapping!
Sara Watkins, our benefactor sends her apologies for not being able to make racing this season. She has kindly sponsored prizes to the value of $1,000.
The Beveridge Trophy has been raced at our club for nearly 90 years.
The Beveridge Trophy was won by Benji French, sailing an ILCA 6 for the first time (Your handicap is going up Benji!)
1st - Benji French (ILCA 6)
2nd - Peter Maynard (OK)
3rd - Peter Hatton (Int. Moth)
4th - Trevor Kite (Zephyr)
5th - Don le Page (Zephyr)
The Starling division was won by Kieran Ivory, with Madeleine Lucas in 2nd, and Xavier Lucas in 3rd
The Bob Beveridge Trophy was competed for by a good fleet of Optimists

Boats and sailors are gearing up for this Sunday's Beveridge Trophy, with even Big Red, the Hartley 16 coming out of hibernation for the event!
Mark foy race start at 2.30pm on Sunday. Entries in by 1.30 so mark foy numbers can be allocated
Fantastic food to follow racing, no entry fee, all sailors from all clubs welcome!

Fantastic morning for Learn to Sail down at the club today. After starting off in absolutely no wind, a light easterly filled in, perfect for learning!

The Ray White Ferrymead Sprint Series finished up for the season on Sunday, raced in a good southerly breeze on the sea wall course.
Thank you to all the sailors who came out and competed over the course of the series, and well done to the winners of each division, with trophies handed out by Richard Withy of Ray White Ferrymead.
Luca Hogan won the junior division, and Mike Bamford took out the senior division

This Sunday the 15th, we have the final three races for the Ray White Ferrymead Sprint Series!
Come and experience low tide racing at its finest out on the Sumner Bar (Weather Depending) before finishing the day off with some fantastic spot prizes and excellent food in the club.
Entry is $15, first start is at 10am!

We have had some great youth representation at regattas around the country over the past weeks
Oak Galbraith won the Starling Fleet at Nelson Yacht Clubs Whakatu Regatta
Sam Foster and Jack Farquhar competed in the ILCA 6 Fleet at the ILCA Nationals at the Bay Of Islands Yacht Club. Sam finished in 18th, and Jack 22nd
