Hey everyone!
Just putting it out there that I offer online personalised programs! These can be suited to you weather you want to be in the gym several days a week or only a couple, or can be tailored for at home workouts as well. Thereโs something for everyone! And with summer fast approaching itโs a good time to start working on your fitness goals ๐คฉ

Sunday mornings strength session started off with some good ol barbell back squats ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
I did a total of 7 sets - Iโll always warm up with just the bar then add a bit of weight each set for my warm ups till I hit my working sets since this was a strength focused session I worked up to 70 kgs for 3 sets of 2 reps
Few keys pointers for the squat are โ>
๐ฅhave the bar positioned on your upper back ( trap muscles ) rather than your neck
๐ฅonce you un rack the weight step back and have your feet roughly shoulder width apart and toes angled slightly out , your knees should track over/in line with your feet as you come down
๐ฅget a big breath in from the top which will help to lock your core in nice and tight , then exhale coming up
๐ฅthink chest up as you sit back into your squat , and aim to get good depth every rep, then drive the weight back up!

๐Going to start adding an exercise of the week each week!
First up is the barbell hip thrust! And hands down one of my favourite lower body exercise for a few reasons! If your wanting to build size and strength in your glutes then this ones for you! Also over time the hip thrust will help you to improve your squats and deadlifts so it is a very beneficial exercise! And yes lads you should be including it too!
๐ฅ here are a few key tips to help maximise your results!
1. For this variation start with your feet positioned shoulder width apart
2. Have your shoulder blades positioned firmly on a bench, if your using a bench thatโs a bit higher you may need to lift the weight then shimmy up a bit to get in the right position.
3. Keep your chin tucked to help keep a neutral spin this also helps to activate the glutes better
4. As you bring the weight up you should be making a 90 degree angle at your knees as this is the most optimal position to target the glutes
5. And lastly , remember to squeeze the glutes at the top of each rep and control the weight on the way down

Over the last few weeks I have been slowly getting back into personal training from Saints Boxing & Fitness and it has been such a buzz for me! I absolutely love every aspect of being a trainer and seeing how happy I can make my amazing clients when they make great achievements in the gym!
Being at saints feels like home to me and is such an awesome place to be! Great people great equipment and the classes are a great way of getting in a good workout while having some fun! I highly recommend checking them out if you havenโt already! ๐

Excellent read on how to foam roll correctly! Foam rolling is an important part of recovery! it releases tension in the muscles , allowing the body to move more freely and helps speed up recover after training! ๐
