We are a small, family orientated netball club in Christchurch. Our teams range from Premier right down to our little Future Ferns.

Our A team girls came up against a somewhat sassy Suburbs team. Our girls came out with a big hiss and a roar with a 9-2 lead in the first quarter and continued the pace throughout the game which made the coach a happy camper.

We won 34-23. Once again the defensive end came out firing with Caity getting a headstart with at least 3 phenomenal intercepts within the first 5 minutes and carried this standard on throughout the game for this, the defending queen earns the player of the day title.

Waiporoporo took on a sharp-shooting Hornby team today and showed plenty of determination and some seriously impressive netball! 💜

The girls did an awesome job disrupting Hornby’s flow, creating pressure, and picking up plenty of well-earned turnovers. It’s fantastic to see the team building confidence in each other, backing each other up, and starting to communicate more and more on court.

MVP today was our pocket rocket Mila! Mila was everywhere, cutting hard into space, creating beautiful drives, pulling in intercepts, and delivering some impressive feeds into the circle.

This week Kikorangi showed incredible determination and resilience on the court! 💙

The first half was a tough battle, with the girls having to work hard to win possession and turn the ball around. Our defensive end was absolutely outstanding, putting in so much effort to create incredible intercepts and tips that gave our team the opportunities we needed to score.

Once the second half began, the girls really found their rhythm and took off! Their confidence grew with every pass, and they moved the ball beautifully down the court, finishing with an amazing 13 goals to 6! It was fantastic to see all of their hard work at training coming together in such an exciting and fast game!

Player of the day goes to chloe for her outstanding defensive effort. Chloe's incredible interceptions and fantastic tips created so many important turnovers for the team, leading us to score. Chloe also played all 3 positions this game, and proved efficient in all areas :)

Well done, Chloe! 💙

Our boys were back up against Ōtautahi this week, and we made a conscious decision not to run around like headless chickens this game. Instead, we brought exactly what we talked about at training: cool, calm ex*****on and keeping our heads up throughout even if things didn’t go our way.
Shout-outs across the court tonight:
The Defensive Circle: Once again coming up against an absolute tower and managing to rattle him a few times! 🔥
Adam & James: Our epic support crew. Adam ran a full game at GA and surprised himself shooting a clinical 14/17!
Jamie: On form as always (and exactly where his coach knows he can be), shooting an incredible 30/31. 🎯

✨ Player of the day this week goes to JJ! He was incredibly consistent throughout the game—offering options on the transverse line, defending his opponent beautifully using our set plays, and putting all those training conversations into practice. Work smarter, not harder! 🧠💪

3 more games until the semi-finals. Let’s keep this momentum rolling!

Our Year5/6 Poropango teams Defence was the highlight of our game this week!
Every one of the girls worked so hard down the defensive end of the court, intercepting a huge amount of balls that made it there and turning play over for us.
It helped keep a lot of possession in our end resulting in goals and a win for Halswell.

Our attacking end had some great spacing in the circle, utilising all the attacking players to get it in the right position.

Our player of the day went to Riley this week, she came out on the court with enthusiasm as she always does, moving with speed was always working to be in the right place. Rileys been working really hard on her shooting recently and had really close attempts this game as well!!

Well done to the girls on one of our best games as a team this season!

Waiporoporo had another slow start this morning, but once they found their rhythm it was like everything began to click into place. All the hard work at training on driving into space, balancing the court, and communicating with each other started to shine through, creating some really pretty passages of play. The girls showed great belief in themselves and continued to dig deep right through to the final whistle, producing a stunning 11–5 final quarter to turn the game around.

MVP for today was our wonderful Emma. Emma had an outstanding game, picking up multiple intercepts through the centre third and ran beautiful lines into the circle, and getting into space. She showed confidence and composure in the shooting circle, backing herself when the opportunity was there while also recognising when a pass was the better option.

Onto the Championship round!

What a memorable performance from our Mawhero girls yesterday! Remaining undefeated is certainly an exciting achievement, but what makes us most proud is the remarkable growth, confidence, sportsmanship, and teamwork these girls continue to demonstrate week after week.

The girls delivered a polished all-round performance, moving the ball seamlessly through the court with precise passing, excellent court awareness, and strong communication. What stood out most was the fierce determination they showed. Over recent weeks, they have been working hard on driving strongly for the ball, creating space, and attacking every pass with purpose, and it was fantastic to see those skills implemented so effectively during the game. (Thank you Kylee!) The girls showed real intent, attacking the ball with confidence and commitment rather than waiting for it to come to them. Defensively, they were disciplined and relentless, producing crucial intercepts that repeatedly shifted momentum in our favour. It was a wonderful reflection of the resilience, and unity that exists within this team.

🌟 Player of the Day ~ Matilda 🌟
Matilda’s ability to anticipate play before it unfolded resulted in several game-changing intercepts. Her awareness, determination, and resilience made her an invaluable asset throughout the game. Well done, Tilly!

🌟 Sportsmanship Award ~ Marnie 🌟
Marnie’s relentless competitive spirit was evident from start to finish. She consistently gave her all, displaying outstanding commitment to her team. She played one of her most fierce games yet, with such determination for her team! Well done, Marnie!

This week Kikorangi were absolutely on fire! 🔥

The girls showed incredible confidence on court, with almost everyone scoring a goal and every player having a go at getting the ball into the hoop!

One of the highlights of the game was the amazing passing down the court. During training, we have been working hard on finding the free player and passing into space, which can sometimes be tricky when defenders are close by. This week, the girls put those skills into action beautifully, moving the ball smoothly through the court and creating some fantastic attacking opportunities.

The improvement this team has made is incredible, and what stood out most was the confidence they showed in themselves and each other. It was wonderful to see everyone encouraging their teammates, working together, and having fun while playing some great netball.

Player of the Day goes to Summer for her outstanding effort throughout the game. She worked so hard to move the ball from defence all the way through to the shooting circle and even scored some fantastic goals herself! Summer was also an amazing cheerleader for her teammates and showed wonderful sportsmanship by praising players from the other team as well.

Well done, Summer 💙

The A team played their first game is Senior Reserve 1 today. We lost 33-26 to AGHS, but only because of 1 s**t quarter. The girls played the best game they have played all year, now we just need to find the consistency. When this team finally realizes how good they can be, they will be unstoppable, and that time is coming.
It would've been easy to give MVP to Erin or Caity again for their outstanding never give up defence, which caused endless headaches for the opposition. But my MVP today goes to Aimee, for playing the strongest, most determined, controlled game ive seen her play yet.
More hard work to do, lets go!!
