Entries are now open on EvoEvents NZ, we have kept exactly the same format as we got such great feedback from you all.

the Training Weekends are designed for everyone, and the best thing about training is unlocking your potential—training bridges the gap between where you currently are and what you are capable of achieving.

Whether you're building your skills at a new level or just starting out as a new rider or with a new horse, effective training at these weekends builds confidence in a supportive and friendly environment.

Exciting news, particularly for our North Canterbury riders! The Waimakariri Riding Club (WRC) are planning to take over the days formerly run by North Canterbury Dressage at the Rangiora Showgrounds! WRC are an ESNZ affiliate group which Dressage NZ supports for running ESNZ Dressage Competitions.

Dressage Canterbury is thrilled to support this initiative by WRC.

Their dates will be appearing on the Dressage NZ calendar soon so watch this space!

WRC is a friendly community of horse owners and riders from the Waimakariri and wider Canterbury region. The club supports riders of all levels through coaching, rallies, social rides, and events that help you build skills and confidence in a safe and supportive environment. Congratulations to three of our local riders for being selected for the Equestrian Sports NZ Dressage NZ 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 | 2026 𝗛𝗣 𝗦𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗱𝘀

This programme exists to provide a structured pathway from the entrance stage of High Performance (HP) all the way through to representing New Zealand at championships i.e. World Championships and Olympic Games. There is a five stage pathway known as the Performance Pathway on the ESNZ website which gives an overview of the programme and each stage of the pathway.

Paige Fitzgerald and Mikayla Wildermoth have been named on the Talent Identification Squad, this squad introduces athletes to the HP system, gives them some guidance and basic skills to develop. This stage is about exploration for the athlete.

Our very own Kirsty Schist is named on the Talent Development Squad, this squad confirms that the athlete has the right attributes to be a high performance athlete some day and progresses the support and expectation.

What a super day out at Dunstan Horsefeeds NEC - Christchurch for our June Winter Competition Day!
The sun shone, the arenas gleamed and there was some lovely work seen by some exciting young horses!
Great to see so many people taking advantage of this training weekend over two days, such a good opportunity for young horses to gain confidence in an atmosphere, and exciting to see some of our more regular riders trying out next level tests.
It was lovely to see so many new faces, and thank you to everyone who helped behind the scenes, every little bit helps, and makes for a successful event.
Dressage Canterbury will be running the same format in July so hope we will see you all again next month!
