Peter Henry
16.11.1939 – 11.04.2026
An End of an Era
We would like to acknowledge and pay tribute to a truly valued member of the Maugers Contracting family, Peter Henry.
Pete began his journey with Warner in 1955, straight out of school, starting at Maugers Garage and later continuing at Spaxton Motors. He remained through the official establishment of Maugers Contracting in 1977 and beyond. With a deep passion for all things mechanical, Pete found his place within the business, where he continued working right through until his retirement in 2017. Not to mention everything else he did in the company.
Pete forms part of the very foundation of this company. His unwavering loyalty, dedication, and countless hours of service to Patsy and Warner, and later Phil, represent a remarkable tenure of over 60 years—an extraordinary achievement.
Within the Maugers Family Milestone Book, Pete has 14 pages dedicated to his story, reflecting just how valued and respected he was, and how deeply he was considered part of the family. I have taken photos of these pages, and they are available on this post for anyone who would like to read more about his history.
We extend our sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to Pete’s family. He leaves behind not only a significant gap, but also a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and many cherished memories.
Our old girl who has been retiring in our yard is on her way to a museum for her twilight years.

Today as you know I posted a very old photo on my phone that I took from a printed picture. Tonight I sent it to Ai and asked if they could make it sharper and clearer and that’s what came back. Within 2 minutes.
AI is absolutely out of my technology range but wanted to mention it to anyone else who has old photos. Whilst I also know the sinister side of AI there is also incredible benefits.
I even took it further and asked for a hi res version so I can make a large print to put in our office. Received.
This was grandad Warner’s garage and Dad Phil was doing the work for him. I am grateful to Warner for taking photos of absolutely everything but not only that has dated the photos with location on the back. Probably 10 albums worth of work photos.
Just thought that was a hot tip for anyone with old photos.
