Swimming trek (one and a half hrs)

This is an unique opportunity to take your horse for a nice dip. This trek will leads through the beautiful lagoon towards our swimming hole so we can have a good splash in the water. You will need to be an advanced rider to take your horse swimming. Only available in summer and subject to tides.

Beginner beach special (one and a half hrs)

Catering for beginner riders that can't trot just yet but still want to make it out to the beach we will start out with a short stretch of lagoon and then make our way through the forest on to the beach. Times and availability can be subject to tides.

Forest and beach half day ride (4 hours including a snack break)

Suited for intermediate to advanced riders. This popular trek will take you through Bottle lake forest, over the beach to our picnic spot where we will have a well deserved break. We will then set off on our return journey which ventures past the ponds within the forest, and the main stretch back over the beach.
Times can be subject to tides.

Bottle lake forest half day ride (4 hours including a snack break)

Suited for intermediate to advanced riders. We will ride through the lagoon and forest on some lovely designed trails. After riding for hour and a half we will stop to have have a picnic break and enjoy a bite to eat in the company of our horses.
Then we will mount again to set out on our return journey through the forest, past the wee ponds of bottle lake to home base.

2 hour lagoon/ forest ride

This package suits beginner to advanced riders. Our ride will start out over the beautiful lagoon, weave through the horse park and in a short space of time we will find ourselves in Bottle lake forest with its many horse treks. We will conclude the ride over the lagoon coming back to home base.

Take in the stunning environment of the Brookland's lagoon, one of the biggest nature reserves in Canterbury. A safe haven to many different bird species like Sacred kingfishers, white herons and spoonbills. Suitable for beginners to advanced riders. Availability can be subject to tides.

Bottle lake Beach ride 3 hours (2 hours riding time)

Great mix of lagoon, lovely forest trails and beach riding. You are invited to be part of the grooming to get to know your horse before we set out, and afterwards can help feed your mount. Suited for intermediate to advanced riders. (Or fit beginners if you book as a group).

Pretty special. Have not seen snow on the ground in Christchurch at sea level for 12 or so years.
