The HSOB Rugby Club's Year 7 and 8 teams united for the first time together at the New Zealand Junior Rugby Festival, joined by 90 enthusiastic supporters. While the rain forced some adjustments to the tournament schedule 🤯, the teams made the most of their time in Queenstown, forging new friendships and celebrating the end of the rugby season.

The Year 7s earned a notable achievement, 🏆 taking home the trophy for best and fairest team - a shining example of HSOB's dedication to its values.

Christchurch High School Old Boys Rugby Club, has a rich history stretching back over 120 years. From our early days as one of the city's pioneering rugby clubs, we have built a legacy rooted in strong values, community spirit, and a passion for the game. Over the years, we have seen countless players grow through our ranks, from juniors to seniors, all with the same sense of pride in wearing the white HSOB jersey.

Today, HSOB Rugby continues to thrive, with a vibrant junior programme that includes teams from Year 1 -8 through to senior levels.

Our Year 7 and 8 teams are preparing for the NZ Junior Rugby Festival in Queenstown, and are ready to showcase the skills, aspiration, and sportsmanship that HSOB is known for.

The strength of our club lies in our community. Parents, coaches, and volunteers work tirelessly to support our young players, helping to build a strong foundation for the next generation of rugby stars.

At HSOB, it’s about more than just winning games - it's about creating a positive, inclusive environment where every player is encouraged to grow, have fun, and develop lifelong friendships.

Lachie’s Laces is a cause incredibly close to our hearts. If you’ve been around the club, you’ll know this isn’t the first time we’ve spoken about it - and it certainly won’t be the last. This year marks five years since Lachie, one of our own HSOB Polar Bears, lost his battle with child cancer. Lachie proudly played in our Junior Club, and his legacy continues to inspire us all. To show our unity, support, and remembrance for Lachie and all the brave children fighting this battle, we’re calling on our Polar Bear community to lace up in yellow this weekend. 🟡 Lachie’s Laces will be available for purchase at the clubrooms this Friday night, especially for our Junior Club families.
