NZAC and ACAT are reviewing how climbing is supported in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We want to understand what climbers value, what issues matter most, what support and services are missing, and how climbing organisations can better meet the needs of today's climbing community.

The results will help inform future priorities, investment, advocacy, access work, education programmes, and community initiatives.

This is it - the FINAL round of NiBS 2026 touches down in Ōtautahi Christchurch this Friday and Saturday, 28–29 August, at Uprising! 🧗

NiBS is Aotearoa's biggest bouldering series, and Christchurch is shaping up to finish it in style. Pōneke Wellington, Ōtepoti Dunedin, and Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland all brought huge crowds, so don't sleep on this one.

New this year: the Friday Fun Round. A relaxed, no-pressure evening open to absolutely anyone. Perfect if you're new to comps or just want to climb for the fun of it. Bring a mate or bring the whānau for a low key fun Friday night.

Not climbing? Come cheer instead spectators are always welcome! Get there for 7:30pm Saturday for Finals 🏆, where it all comes down to the wire. Christchurch is the last shot for competitors to score points and be crowned 2026 Series Champions, stakes don't get much higher 👑

This six-day course is designed for enthusiastic intermediate mountaineers, building toward advanced glacier travel techniques - crevasse rescue, rope work, and moving safely and confidently on glaciated terrain, taught by experienced NZAC instructors.
