🏸 Canterbury ABC Championships Wrap-Up 🏸

What a fantastic weekend of badminton at the Canterbury ABC Championships!

With an incredible 121 entries across A, B and C Grades, the atmosphere in the hall was buzzing. A huge thank you to all the players, supporters, volunteers and officials who helped make the event such a success.

A special highlight was the return of the C Grade Championships for the first time in a number of years. We were delighted to see so many of our club and social-grade players step onto the court and experience the excitement of competitive tournament play. The enthusiasm, sportsmanship and determination on display showed exactly why providing these opportunities is so important for growing our badminton community.

We'd also like to acknowledge the large number of spectators who joined us throughout the weekend. Your support created an awesome atmosphere and added to the excitement of every match.

Wishing Rina Kim all the very best as she heads to Australia on Tuesday to participate in a training camp with players from Australia and then to compete in the - Elite Series 2 and AIA Junior Circuit 6 U17 Tournament.

Jo Christie is also travelling as one of 4 coaches with the 16 players selected from BNZ.

ADULT NON-REP COACHING

Suitable for anyone that missed out on Div 3 squad, those that are wanting to get some training in before Mainland Badminton League, or anyone else who is keen for some adult coaching.

Wednesdays 6 - 7.30pm at Badminton Canterbury
24th June - 29th July

Mainland Badminton League is a social team event that sits outside the representative programme. This year it will be held in South Canterbury over the weekend of the 12th and 13th September.

This year, we’ve relaxed the entry criteria to create more opportunities to play. This is an unsanctioned event.

We’ve also added a C Grade to better cater for club-level and social players from our drop-in sessions.
