Big weekend for our lifeguards!

We’re incredibly proud of four of our clubbies who headed away to the 2026 Intermediate Lifeguard School at Taylors Mistake over the weekend.

It was a full-on couple of days packed with learning, challenges, and plenty of laughs. From search and rescue and first aid scenarios to board work, rock training (with some epic jumps!), and the classic run swim run – our crew gave it everything.

By the end, they were absolutely exhausted… but buzzing from the experience!

A huge congratulations to Liam Sincock, who was awarded Top Candidate for the entire course, an awesome achievement and so well deserved!

And well done to Phoebe Trevella, Jess Borcherds, and Campbell Penrose for successfully completing the course. We’re so proud of the effort, attitude, and dedication you all showed (especially pushing through injuries and still giving it a go!)

The school brought together around 30 candidates from across the South Island and was made possible by an incredible crew of instructors, mentors, and volunteers – over 50 people helping to make it all happen 👏

The future of our club is looking strong – awesome work team!
