What an incredible weekend for our School of Badminton players at the 2026 Badminton Canterbury U17s & U13s Championships in Christchurch.

There were championship titles, finals, semifinals, plate successes and plenty of hard-fought matches but what makes us proudest is seeing our athletes continue to develop their confidence, resilience, discipline and competitive character.

Special congratulations to Eben Anil, who became U17 Boys’ Singles and Boys’ Doubles Champion; Amelia Black, who completed an unbeaten tournament while winning both U17 Girls’ Singles and Girls’ Doubles; Zooni Ahuja, who won Mixed Doubles alongside two runner-up finishes; Rina Kim, U17 Girls’ Doubles Champion and Mixed Doubles runner-up; and Aaron Hu, U13 Boys’ Doubles Champion and Boys’ Singles semifinalist.

We also celebrate the brilliant performances of Aidan Hu, Harshavarthen Parthipan, Aysvithan Parthipan, Jay Yue Tan, Sarah Roby George, Roslynn Roby George, Cherry Zhang and Stefan Roby George, who each contributed strong performances across singles, doubles, mixed doubles and plate events.

Every medal tells a story. Every loss teaches something. Every match moves us forward.
